A friend of mine, a single mother of one, was passing by her daughter’s bedroom when she saw, to her shock, the bed was nicely made and everything was picked up. Then she saw an envelope propped up prominently on the center of the bed. It was addressed, “Mom.” With the worst premonition, she opened the envelope and read the letter with trembling hands:
Dear Mom: It is with great regret and sorrow that I’m writing you. I had to elope with my new boyfriend because I wanted to avoid a scene with Dad and you. I’ve been finding real passion with Ahmed and he is so nice-even with all his piercings, tattoos, beard, and his motorcycle clothes. But it’s not only the passion Mom, I’m pregnant and Ahmed said that we will be very happy. He already owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. He wants to have many more children with me and that’s now one of my dreams too. Ahmed taught me that marijuana doesn’t really hurt anyone and we’ll be growing it for us and trading it with his friends for all the cocaine and ecstasy we want. In the meantime, we’ll pray that science will find a cure for AIDS so Ahmed can get better; he sure deserves it!! Don’t worry Mom, I’m 15 years old now and I know how to take care of myself. Someday I’m sure we’ll be back to visit so you can get to know your grand children.
Your daughter, Judith
PS: Mom, none of the above is true. I’m over at the neighbor’s house. I just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than my report card that’s in my desk center drawer. I love you! Call when it is safe for me to come home.

I'm finally UP. Overcast and cool and so nice to try to sleep in. Can't because I had to feed the Outdoorsies and Penelope the Peacock. SHE is getting very agressive. More so since the big police action and arrest of her 'possible owner' for 23 counts of death threats, gross bodily harm, injury to another, threats with a weapon, etc. He was arraigned Monday and probably bailed himself out yesterday afternoon. I think the 3 police cars in front of, across from and near his residence was a definite tip off. Also one of the patrolmen went into the house of the tenant (where all this started). He was in there about an hour and all 3 cars finally left after 1 1/2 hours. I think they were there 'just in case'. Can't wait to see what happens with him next. His entire family has been arrested at one time or another, and there are restraining orders all over the place. I wonder if the tenants will get one? They live right across the street. It's about 200 feet from his front door, but only about 80 feet from his driveway exit. Could be interesting.

Off to Costly Co today for coupon day. They actually have some things on sale that I NEED.

WARNING! This person is extremely blonde...please type SLOWLY.

Good morning everyone. wave

I'm sitting here with the front door propped open on a nice sunny day. We have colder weather coming though. In fact my day off tomorrow is supposed to be cold and rainy. Well maybe not rainy, but that's coming this weekend. yes

I have to go to work at 1:00. frown

BobH I tried your suggestions. Last night I turned everything off and sat quietly in my chair. I didn't have any herbal tea, so I had a cup of coffee instead. thumbsup

Still had trouble going to sleep. headscratch duh

I actually had no trouble falling asleep last night, but I have been waking up at 3:00 or 4:00 and having trouble going back to sleep.

I appreciate the suggestions. I'm have no doubt that they will help. thumbsup

Have a great day everyone. rah

Thumping Good Thursday ya'll puppy

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood happydance Doggies and I will be heading out shortly.

I've been up for a bit...shortstopped to the kitchen. Today was organizing the food for Super Bowl Sunday. All done now!

Our Chimney Sweep came this morning and pronounced our fireplace and chimney in good working order. He also left me 2 numbers for "wood guys" so that is great. Now I just need to keep up with it.

Connie, thanks for the biscuit bottoms. Perfect!

Gotta research heart rate monitors for daughter later.

Ana, do you use one for your workouts?

Nan, how is your eye?

Back later wave

Well, Sorta, the guy can't be all bad if he cares for Penelope. If he's confined for long you can be P's mother -maybe she'll calm down. Thanks for the update.

Turning out to be a nice day -sunny, warm. Tomorrow colder.

I'm enjoying my housework break and now off to sudoku

L4L, I used to use a hearty monitor, I had a Polar one. The ones without the straps are not very reliable yet so I would stay away. Also the cheap ones are not very reliable or durable either.

Good afternoon SpaceQ and all!
