Er... only in this specific case, I mean.

We're hosting a poll on the Troll Song Dev Blog to see when people would like us to release the freeware "Verse One" of the game. It will essentially replace the existing demo - which no longer represents the quality of the game as a whole - and common publishing wisdom says to wait until about a month or so before the full game's release before putting the demo out there. However, we've decided to let the people who actually want to play the game the choice rather than go with conventional wisdom.

Verse One is going to be released as freeware soon. I can't give you a definite date right now, but it will definitely be before the end of January 2015, possibly before the end of December 2014.

- Freeware Verse One being polished ready for final testing

Okay, quick update - it's taken a little longer than expected because we decided to add a short tutorial section (after all, some people are weird and have never actually played a point and click adventure game before! Yes I know, it's hard to believe...) - designing, scripting and debugging this has proved to be rather more involving than we'd expected, but it's basically done now and once we're happy with it we'll give the testers one final chance to try to break the game.

Verse One should definitely still be here on time! (We only promised it for by the end of January! )

We promised you the complete freeware game (which also, unlike the existing demo, serves as a proper taster of the full game which is curently in development) by the end of January 2015 - so we've just about done it!

Just make sure you download "Troll Song Verse One - Completely Stoned" not the Demo build from the Downloads list

Hope you enjoy the game! It's not very long but it should take you a while to work out all the puzzle solutions, and certainly you get a little flavour of the overall storyline.
