We have having trouble with that F key sequence in Turner's house.
Can't figure out how to work the interface. We see all the shadowy bodies
and we know what the correct sequence should be, but don't understand
how to get the numbers. When I left click on the first shadow figure it
turns green and "got out of bed" appears with number one on it. But when I click
on the next sequence figure "took stick" that becomes number one instead.
And I never get past that. Are you supposed to left click or what do you
do to get the numbers in a row?
Thanks.

Hi Ming,

Just a thought -- be sure that you're not double-clicking on the "took stick" figure, as I think that will reset the sequence. A single click is all you need. Be sure that your initial click on the "got out of bed" figure has taken and is at number one.

I checked and I'm not double clicking. I click once on the first figure and get 1 for got out of bed. I think the trouble is this: After doing that for the very first figure, the scene is frozen. What do you do to get it moving again? If I left click the figure moves into the second step but the number resets. So I don't know how to stop the action, number and then move the action again from step to step.

From memory, I think the freezing is correct -- it confirms that you have selected a particular figure in the sequence. It doesn't need to move around then -- you have selected it. (Don't click on it again! It will reset.) So then move on to the next figure and click once on that.

The problem with this game is that there are no individual save slots, so I'm unable to go back into the game and replay this section for you to double-check the requirements. frown Perhaps someone who has played the game more recently may be able to figure out what the problem is here, if the above doesn't help as regards the clicking.

Thanks. Finally got it. Didn't realize that getting out of bed and taking the stick were both attributed to number one and that most other actions also were grouped into one number.... I have to say I think this game's a step down from the earlier ones with the way some things were set up.

Aha, glad you figured it out and are progressing now. Yes, I agree that the "F sequence" puzzles in this game are a little confusing.
