As with Telltale's other recent games gameplay is about choices, and sometimes quick reactions. Just as in the TV series, What you say can be more dangerous than actual fighting... And the game does not lack for either one. Find out more about Telltale's newest episodic series in flotsam's *** Review of Game of Thrones Episode 1: Iron From Ice ***

Hello all
I was asked to play and review the Game of Thrones first episode by another on-line game site. Unfortunately, they have not yet published my review, so I can't point you to that. But I would add a word of caution to anyone thinking of buying the game. I agree with what Flotsam has said regarding the storytelling in the 'game' - it is very well done, like a superior animated cartoon - but there is virtually no gameplay in it. I would question whether it warrants the description of a game! Of course, there may be more gameplay in future episodes, but at over £20 a download for each episode it works out as an expensive game. For fans of the Game of Thrones series I'm sure it will be worth getting, but if you want a game with either plenty of action (there is a little) or lots of puzzles (none in this episode), this will disappoint.

Elentgirl, the game is actually 1/6th of the price you quoted. That price is for all 6 episodes, not one. If you stated that in your review or used that criteria to rate the game, you may wish to amend that.

at over £20 a download for each episode it works out as an expensive game. I think the £20 is for the "Season Pass" -- all episodes that come out this "season." According to the Telltalegames.com website this is episode one of six. So £20 for six episodes -- about £3.33 per episode. but there is virtually no gameplay in it. I would question whether it warrants the description of a game!... ...if you want a game with either plenty of action (there is a little) or lots of puzzles (none in this episode), this will disappoint.
I haven't played it, but it sounds typical of Telltale's recent game series, like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Around Us -- closer to a "choose your own story" than what most people think of as an adventure game.

Hello all Elentgirl, the game is actually 1/6th of the price you quoted. That price is for all 6 episodes, not one. If you stated that in your review or used that criteria to rate the game, you may wish to amend that. If the price is for the whole series, then that is quite good value. Steam does not make that clear. As I was reviewing the game, I did not have to pay for it. I could think of no good reason to split a game into episodes unless it was make more money! Maybe it's to keep down the download size. Fortunately I didn't use its price as part of my review - simply my reactions to playing it as a game. I stand by my conclusion (for the first episode, at least) that it is not really a game, more an interactive story. As the latter, it is very good. Elen
