Hi,

I am looking for a new adventure game that will test the capability of a new computer being built for me. The person building the computer asked me this question and I have been out of touch for so long that I haven't a clue. I believe he wants to install it and make sure the machine will have a sufficient graphics card for memory speed and other things like shading etc., computer with fast enough chip, enough RAM and so on. I tried to outline my needs, but he is not familiar with adventure games or gaming in general and I'm really out of touch since my illness.

Thank you for your help.

Mr. Bill

Hi mrbill smile

I think you mainly stick with Adventures ??

If so, the newly released "re-mastered Grim Fandango" (available DRM Free from GOG) might be one to try.

But I'm sure others here will have good suggestions grin

And I do hope you are feeling better now yes

Cheers.

Jenny or Inland will have the best advice, but the main thing your builder needs to know is that you need a discrete stand-alone video card. The current Intel processors have very good integrated video, but they are not good enough for gaming, even adventure gaming. New adventure games have increasingly hefty video requirements which integrated chips are not able to meet.

Mad's suggestion is a good one. Here are the MINIMUM system requirements for Grim Fandango Remastered - that's not even the recommended system requirements.

OS: Windows Vista 32-bit
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 1.80GHz or AMD Athlon II X2 220 2.8GHz
RAM: 4GB System Memory
GPU RAM: 512MB Video Memory
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT or AMD Radeon HD 4650
HDD: 4.5GB Free Hard Drive Space
Additional: OpenGL 3.3 or higher support

Get a good processor, 8 GB of RAM and a very good stand-alone video card.

Once again, weeds are my life!

Maybe try "Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments" with graphics options set to maximum.

"The Vanishing of Ethan Carter" also had high requirements when graphics options were set to maximum.
