Jennifer Rush sang the original version of the Power of Love way back in 1985. In the USA and it only made it to number 57. Celine Dion took the song it to number one in the USA eight years later. Today many think Celine Dion’s version is the original recording when in fact it is a cover version.

Jennifer co wrote and took the song in 1985 to No1 one in Europe and in the UK it remained No1 for weeks. I’m told that Jennifer never made it in the States though she was really big in Europe. For years I’ve wondered why, was there some kind of politics going on as this American girl can really sing.

I had it on one of her LPs and played it practically every day for months !!

The first version of "The Power of Love" was by Huey Lewis and the News, written for the movie "Back to the Future" in 1985.

I also loved Celine Dion's version.
