Okay, I've gotten this far in this game, and so far I have to say, I'm really enjoying this one! But now my problem: I've just entered the Hive and I've gone to the first hut on the left (took me a while to realize it's *his* left, not mine). In the walkthrough, it says I'm supposed to speak to a Cyclops named Gravin. But I don't see him! All I see are (yecch) bugs. I can talk to Chik Tok, but I see no Gravin. Is he hiding from me? I brought a cake and everything!

Max is now playing as the four-armed Cyclops. Immediately, click on the dead bug in front of you that you just killed; this will give you it's harness. If you don't do this, you will not be able to get past the scanner that's in front of you to the right. Then, continue down the path, and where it first branches, go to the left side of the screen; you will see a purple spot on the ground, and a small yellow orb on the wall next to a door. Click on the orb, and then enter the cave. Inside, talk to the other cyclops that you see on the right-hand side; you will receive the password for his hut.

Hi, Jenny! I'm still confused! I even went back to the prior saved game (in the lab) to get back to the Hive from the beginning. Got the harness, past the scanner, to the first hut on the left. Push the yellow button, walk in....and there are bugs! Lots and lots of bugs! (did I ever tell you I hate bugs?) But no cyclops. Is he difficult to see? Am I missing a step?

Try going to a house that is on your not his left or at the left of the screen.

Here's some more excerpts:
When you start this chapter your character (Grimwall) kills the worm...take the security belt he has.
Next go to the room just below you to the left of the start position and talk to Graven (on the right). He will give you some info including the password to his hut which is at the bottom right of the board.

Thanks, Mags--I've been looking around trying to find someone who has played Sanitarium recently, but the only one I could find is Hanksdog and he's not available right now because he is in the hospital.

The only other thing I can think of, Goopie, is basically what Mags is saying--try all of the other places you can find to see if one of them is where Gravin is...

Kudos to MaG! I finally found Gravin - yup, on *my* left, not on my guy's. So I chatted, went to the furnace, shut it down with the bug puzzle (phew!) and went back to talk to Gravin in his hut...but though he mentions the harness at the end of the conversation, I don't get to ask Chik Tok about it, I don't get that option. We talk about the Eve and the Plan, but no harness. I read another walkthru that says talk to Chik first after shutting down the furnace, then Gravin, and back to Chik, but still no harness talk. What do I dooooo??? According to the walkthrus I've done everything!

When you talked to Chik Tok was there a mention of an upgrade?
He should mention this upgrade before you can ask Gravin about the authorization.
Then Gravin will give you the authorization after you talk to him about 'upgrade'.
Then go back to Chik Tok again and ask for upgrade the econd time.

Try going to a saved game after you turned off the furnace, then go to Chik Tok, then to Gravin, then to Chik Tok again. Use ALL the dialogues.

MaG, I'm so frustrated! I've gone back to saved games as far as the Mansion and done everything just so. Got the harness, met Gravin, told me his password. Turned and met Chik-Tok. Get the tools, go to the furnace and blow it up. Solve the bug puzzle, go back and talk to CT and all I get for dialogue is Cybernetics, Eve, Plan, Gift and Goodbye. Still no harness talk! And even if I click on CT again, I just get Goodbye. I had screwed up once before and talked to Gravin the one time (gave me password), talked to CT, then accidentally clicked on Gravin again and he talked some more about if the would just shut the machine down, blah blah. Do I need to do that in order for this to work? Maybe that *wasn't* a screw up!

You might be right - it might have got you through. Do you think you can get to that again? Continue ther and see if CT will talk to you then.

Here's a Sanitarium saved games - in case you need it. I think you might need it in the end game - which is very hairpulling. I don't know if this has a saved game for the part you're in.

Did you get the talk from the man in the 'upgrade ' place about testing you? You are supposed to come back a second time, and poke around in the back of the place to get another 'arm' to stick under the machine

Still no luck! I've talked to Gravin the first time, then Chik-Tok, then Gravin again (where he says I can't talk now!), pick up the pincer, then down to get the sledge & the tools, smash the furnace, fix the bug puzzle and back to Chik and still no harness talk. I guess I'll give your saved game a try, MaG, and hope for the best. I'd hate to quit now when I'm so far into it!

I just sent you 2 saved games for the upgrade part - finally got the computer tweaked to play that part.

If you want to replay by yourself and still haven't gotten through - this is what I did.

Took harness. Went to house on the left. Talked to Gravin and got password. Talked to Chik Tok. Took pincers. Went to Gravin's house. Took tools and sledgehammer. Watched TV. Went to furnace room. Used sledgehammer on patched pipe. Used bellows. Took arm. Did furnace puzzle. Went to Chik Tok and talked about upgrade needing authorization. Talked to Gravin about Gromma, etc, words needed and about authorization. Went to Chik Tok and talked about all including upgrade.
