How do you play this game?

I clicked on sightseeing and cultural tour and get a map but can't click on anything in there. As Mr Bill said in his review " An option for a walking tour only is available (with an invisible tour guide to tell you about various points of interest) and we highly recommend that you take it, prior to playing the game. " I thought it would be a good idea to do it. So how does one access it.

Mag says in her walkthrough there are 3 save slots. Well when I saved there was only one. How do you access other slots. Saved in a different scene and it just overwrote the previous one.

The screen icon. What is the purpose of that.?

What is the proper way to exit the game. I go to services then exit. It takes me back to desktop but the game is still running in the background. I have to crtl-alt-del and then end task. This is in both win 98 and win xp.

Is there any way to go from the game to the tour without exiting the game.

Between all these problems and not being able to install the game in the directory of my choosing(at least i could copy it to another drive and directory) I am ready to toss this game in the trash. But because my xp machine is unusable for any games at the moment( see glitches note) I am forced to play something that will play on a machine that is over 5 years old. Unfortunately this may be the only recent game that will work. I know this game got some good reviews and it sounds interesting but not if you can't even do basic things like save and exit.

I am playing this game right now but I did not take the tour.
I went back and started the tour after reading your post, this is what I found. I am playing in Windows ME

After choosing the tour and at the map screen click on the yellow square with tools at the bottom of the screen, this brings you to the options screen, click Start and there yu have the option of starting from Save (The place where you saved last) There seems no need to have more than one save at one time .

In the actual game you have 3 (Too few!) Once walking about you can click on the map icon at bottom of page, this shows you where you are (A blue or red blicking square, means YOU)
This is useful at junctions, to make sure you are going the correct way.
There is a nice comentary of places of interest, I think you cannot move while the comentary is on.

I plan to take the complete tour when I finish the game.

In the same screen as the save option, there is the exit option, in my case this throws me back to Windows but I have not noticed the game still playing in the back ground.

I hope this have helped

carmen,

the starting from save takes you into the main game not the tour.

when you exit do a ctrl-alt-del and you will see the game still running. it appears at it colses out ocmpletely but in reality does not. you have no way of seeing it unless you do this. after exiting form the game and restarting it several times because i could not find a way to go back and forth between the game and tour the pc started to run slower. so thats what i did the ctrl-alt-del and found many occurences of the game it was still running.

waht is the screen icon for?

jenny can you shed more light on the save and switching between tour and game.

In my computer, if I choose the Tour, the save game does not take me to the proper game, though it starts exactly the same, I only knew I was in the tour when I did not have to pay the taxi driver.

I think the screen icon with the numbers is to help you know where you have been....I am not sure

I did not think of doing a Ctrl Alt Delete, I will try this tomorrow, it is past my bed time now.

thanks for trying to help carmen.

so lets me see you have ot go to start before anything happens even though the map is up. is that correct? when i choose vidoegame services-start, it is the same thing. thats where i got confused. there is no way to distinguish it.

i still see no way to go from one to the other without exiting.

what is notebook for. it is not mentioned in help file. three pages is way too much to manually write out. anyone know of a way to print it. i can't find a text , pdf,.html or readme file on the disc with this info.

Stacey,

As you gathered there is no way to go from tour to game or vice versa. You have to exit and just do one or the other.

Notebook - it is the dialogue of the characters you meet during gameplay. It serves as refresher for some clues stated by the characters. Like the recipe for the salad, etc.....

Help file - have to install the game to see what that is - can't remember. smile

There is an install instruction at C:\Program Files\Oxiana\Un Tranquillo week-end a Capri but not the help file that is in the game itself.

The only way I can think of for you to have a copy is to do a screen capture. If you want I can do it and send it to you - just tell me. smile
