I went to a restaurant that serves "breakfast at any time". So I ordered French Toast during the Renaissance.

A sign was hung in an office window. It read:

Help wanted.
Must type 70 words a minute.
Must be computer literate.
Must be bilingual.
An equal opportunity employer.

A dog was ambling down the street and saw the sign. He looked at it for a moment, pulled it down with his mouth, and walked into the manager's office, making it clear he wished to apply for the job.

The office manager laughed and said, "I can't hire a dog for this job."

The dog pointed to the line: "An equal opportunity employer."

So the manager said, "OK, take this letter and type it." The dog went off to the word processor and returned a minute later with the finished letter, perfectly formatted.

The manager said, "Alright, here's a problem. Write a computer program for it and run it."

Fifteen minutes later, the dog came back with the correct answer.

The manager still wasn't convinced. "I still can't hire you for this position. You've got to be bilingual."

The dog looked up at the manager and said, "Meow."

The day finally arrived. Forrest Gump dies and goes to Heaven. He is at the Pearly Gates, met by St. Peter himself. However, the gates are closed, and Forrest approaches the gatekeeper.

St. Peter said, 'Well, Forrest, it is certainly good to see you.. We have heard a lot about you. I must tell you, though, that the place is filling up fast, and we have been administering an entrance examination for everyone. The test is short, but you have to pass it before you can get into Heaven.'
Forrest responds, 'It sure is good to be here, St. Peter, sir.. But nobody ever told me about any entrance exam. I sure hope that the test ain't too hard. Life was a big enough test as it was.'
St. Peter continued, 'Yes, I know, Forrest, but the test is only three questions.
First:
What two days of the week begin with the letter T?
Second:
How many seconds are there in a year?
Third:
What is God's first name?
Forrest leaves to think the questions over. He returns the next day and sees St. Peter, who waves him up, and says, 'Now that you have had a chance to think the questions over, tell me your answers.'
Forrest replied, 'Well, the first one -- which two days in the week begins with the letter 'T'? Shucks, that one is easy. That would be Today and Tomorrow.'
The Saint's eyes opened wide and he exclaimed, 'Forrest, that is not what I was thinking, but you do have a point, and I guess I did not specify, so I will give you credit for that answer. How about the next one?' asked St. Peter.
'How many seconds in a year?
Now that one is harder,' replied Forrest, 'but I thunk and thunk about that, and I guess the only answer can be twelve.' Astounded, St. Peter said, 'Twelve?
Twelve? Forrest, how in Heaven's name could you come up with twelve seconds in a year?'
Forrest replied, 'Shucks, there's got to be twelve: January 2nd, February 2nd, March 2nd... '
'Hold it,' interrupts St. Peter. 'I see where you are going with this, and I see your point, though that was not quite what I had in mind....but I will have to give you credit for that one, too. Let us go on with the third and final question.
Can you tell me God's first name'?
'Sure,' Forrest replied, 'it's Andy.'
'Andy?' exclaimed an exasperated and frustrated St Peter. 'Ok, I can understand how you came up with your answers to my first two questions, but just how in the world did you come up with the name Andy as the first name of God?'
'Shucks, that was the easiest one of all,' Forrest replied. 'I learnt it from the song,
ANDY WALKS WITH ME,
ANDY TALKS WITH ME,
ANDY TELLS ME I AM HIS OWN.'

St. Peter opened the Pearly Gates, and said: 'Run, Forrest, run.'

A woman goes to the doctor all black and blue ...

Doctor: "What happened?"

Woman: "Doctor, I don't know what to do. Every time my husband comes home drunk on Bud Light he beats me to a pulp."

Doctor: "I have a real good remedy for that. When your husband comes home drunk on Bud Light, just take a glass of sweet tea and start swishing it in your mouth but don't swallow. Just keep swishing and swishing until he goes to bed in his Bud Light stupor."

Two weeks later the woman comes back to the doctor looking fresh and reborn.

Woman: "Doctor, that was a brilliant idea. Every time my husband came home drunk on Bud Light, I swished with sweet tea. I swished and swished, and he didn't touch me!"

Doctor: "You see how much keeping your mouth shut helps?"

Have a great day Joe, venus and all!

We are supposed to get an ice storm tonight. I'd rather it just be snow. PT today, groceries and post office.

Nan, I'm not working at the moment. My right shoulder needs a computer break, it's why I don't post as much. This too shall pass. hearts

Oh happy day...Penelope the Peacock was ON the roof as usual this morning and came flopping (flapping her wings) down to the deck when I came out to feed the outdoorsies. Then she went right over to her food dish (which was still on the deck not on her table) and ate a few bites. Then she made the 'rounds' of all the potted plants eating the tender top leaves. Came back, ate a bit more food, etc. Terrorized 2 cats until I approached and went back to bug hunting. I think she's OK. Either she has recovered from whatever happened to her, OR the rain interfered with her flying. I'm going to look up something about wet peacocks. Could be getting drenched makes her too heavy to fly? I'm happy she's almost back to her feisty self. Whew!

Still a bit rainy out. Clear for now, but yesterday, in ONE hour, there were tons of car accidents. They said that the usual number per day on a normal day is about 172 for all of San Diego County. Yesterday we had 1300+ in the FIRST hour. Can you imagine that??? I can. Tons of wrecks all over, some small, some fatal. People around here don't know how to slow down when it rains. Most 'hydroplane' on the slick freeway surface and end up into a tree, bridge, light pole, or the center concrete barrier. Awful stuff. Everyone is in such a hurry all the time. Running red lights, turning from the wrong lanes, honking if you don't move fast enough. Lots of road rage.

I had a homeless guy (who was on a bicycle) yell at me because I wasn't turning right out of a driveway. I was waiting for traffic to clear. I know how fast it comes and how fast my car goes when turning and I wasn't about to pull out in front of someone and get hit broadside. He just figured I was waiting for nothing? I ignored him. Thank goodness he didn't decide to pound on my car like one guy did last year. We have a lot of homeless around here, usually on drugs or alcohol who are dangerous if confronted. Ya never know when one will decide to lash out. Then again, there was that nice homeless guy in the park last year who was hunting around in the grass of the park and he saw me and asked if I'd like a 4-leaf clover. He hunted for a bit and found one. I pressed it in a book and now have it in a small glass thingy made for stuff like that. Very pretty. Nice guy (at least that day).

Out to check on Penelope and the Outdoorsies. Hope they are not fighting.

WARNING! This person is extremely blonde...please type SLOWLY.

Hey Sorta, wonderful news!!!!! See what prayers and good will thoughts do for the Princess. Goodgoodgood -she's not hurtin'. Now prepare some fine meals for her. My possys will dine on buttered toast, hard boiled egg with mayonaise, simmered chicken breast (Button's chicken, not mine). i hope she likes it. The egg and toast thing is only part of my breakfast.

Warmer today another goodgoodgood. ButterCup is sitting by the backdoor on the doorsill -half inside and half outside and the furnace is on. Oh well. It's dark and rainey again, most welcomed rain..........not walking weather.

Hey Karen, maybe we are a bit related because my grandmother -my father's mother- came from Horsens Denmark when she was a little girl and the family settled in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. They moved to South Portland where she taught school. I remember her well -she was tall and very blond -she worked hard.

Time to consider the "why bother" aspect. A good day to adopt "why bother" and game. I'm replaying chapter 7, The Keeper, from The Evil Within" and using a walkthrough and enjoying it so much more. This game is difficult for me and I've died and died and died.

L4L, my cousin in Niagara Falls laughed and laughed over that "why bother" thing
