Last week, I stated this woman was the ugliest woman I had ever seen. I have since been visited by her sister,
and now wish to withdraw that statement..

TEXAS BEER JOINT SUES LOCAL CHURCH OVER LIGHTNING STRIKE!

(This should keep you chuckling for awhile)

A bar called Drummond's (in Mt Vernon, Texas ) began construction on an expansion of their building, hoping to "grow" their business.
In response, the local Southern Baptist Church started a campaign to block the bar from expanding - petitions, prayers, etc.
About a week before the bar's grand re-opening, a bolt of lightning struck the bar and burned it to the ground!
Afterward, the church folks were rather smug - bragging about "the power of prayer".
The angry bar owner eventually sued the church on grounds that the church... "Was ultimately responsible for the demise of his building, through direct actions or indirect means."
Of course, the church vehemently denied all responsibility or any connection to the building's demise.
The judge read carefully through the plaintiff's complaint and the defendant's reply.
He then opened the hearing by saying:
"I don't know how I'm going to decide this, but it appears from the paperwork that what we have here is a bar owner who now believes in the power of prayer, and an entire church congregation that does not!"

Sleep well, Joe, and hope work goes well tomorrow.

Glad you and Peter had a great time, Ana. thumbsup

Have a great Saturday, too, Space Quest.

It's Friday night for me, and tomorrow is day 3 of my 4 day weekend. There's still a lot of snow on the ground, so I think it will be another day of gaming and singing for me. lol Which is fine, as I'll be working over 40 hours next week, so I appreciate the down time beforehand. grin

Okay, off to sleep. Have a terrific Saturday, everyone. winter

Super Saturday Ya'll puppy

Hubby and I have been watching "The Rifleman" this morning. AMC is apparently running a marathon. Man, haven't seen that is so many years. Good show.

We have a "date" later. Going to see "As You Like It," then dashing home to meet the boys. Son is working tonight.

We have bright blue skies and pretty yellow sun, but not warm.

Connie, thanks for the biscuit bottoms. Yummmm!

Gail, hope hubby is improved a bit today.

Yep Yankee, Penelope is here all snug on the roof. She was gone for 2 days last week and came back 'injured'. It seems her flying ability was interrupted since she couldn't get over the fence or up on the roof. I let her in the gate and put the food on the deck so she could get to it. She tried to fly a few times, but seemed to be in pain when she flapped her wings. She's still a bit on the mend, but can get up to the roof now. Probably hurts but she's OK and eating well. Someone might have kicked her to get her away from them since she was getting very aggressive is she saw food in your hands. The good part is, she isn't jumping at me anymore. Right now, she's eaten a plate of black grapes and sunflower seeds and is 'nesting' on the corner of the roof in all her glory. So cute.

I spoke to the gal who was my former student and whose family 'owns' Penelope. Just lucked out to see her. She lives (the student) a few blocks away, but her family lives 3 houses away and I asked WHO owned the bird. She replied, 'nobody really, but she stays here (where the house was) or at the big house in back and YOU can keep her if you want...please!'. She just considers the bird a nuisance and nobody really takes care of poor Penelope. At least the girl now knows that I am feeding her and she's over at my house most of the day. I'm sure the rest of the family will get the message eventually. Wish she would have babies. They sell for mega bucks. Wow. Don't think there is a male, but if I get to see the girl again, I'll ask. I know they keep chickens, ducks, geese, etc. over there. Probably for eggs and food. At least they didn't eat Penelope. bravo

WARNING! This person is extremely blonde...please type SLOWLY.

Well, Sorta, looks like you have a new boarder. She'll be good company. I've fed and helped wild, homeless animals and after awhile -some years- they disapear. This world needs people like us. Forgot to post yesterday I bought tomato and sunflower seeds -wish me luck.

The Green Thumb hour claimed it's OK to plant seeds now outdoors but I'll start mine in little flower pots so they can be in the warm house if it's cold. Later I'll transplant them. I'm more concerned about grasshoppers as they will shave a garden. The seeds are heirloom. one year I had sunflowers and moonflowers. Wow.

Remember do your clocks up one tonight

Yankee, one year when we lived in Nev we were inundated with grasshoppers. You'd open a drawer and out they'd pop. Open the cabinent, hello grasshopper. It was wild. What are moonflowers?

I do believe it is time for bed. Just sent the boys up, so I will follow. Sweet dreams all sleep
