Hi all - I recently got this game from Steam and I had no issues with it until well into Chapter 2. The game just freezes. I can move the mouse - I can also hear the background music but I cannot click out of the scene or close the game. Only option is to kill the process in task manager. The game autosaves and I save often but it is getting to be a big annoyance.

I noticed that it freezes mostly when I examine the Napkin Map for the Radio.

I just purchased the game so I am guessing any patches were included in the package - I don't see patch downloads for it.

Has anyone else experienced this? I tried a playing in window instead of full screen and get the same issue.

My PC has much more power and resources than the minimum requirements too.

There's a couple of threads on the Steam discussion forums where people are talking about freezes with this game. One suggestion to fix it was this:



I don't know if this fix is universal for all players, though.

Thank you Marian - actually what I did was make a drawing of the napkin so I didn't have to see it in inventory. I was able to continue with no freeze issue. I bet if I would have followed your response - that might have fixed it too. But I am continuing on. It's a weird kinda game, but interesting.

Well - I continued to have freeze issues - my workaround didn't last too long !

I logged onto to Steam's Community Forum and discovered that I was not alone so I asked the developer for some help. I got an immediate response from him and was advised to try this..... While in game, hit the "m" key on my keyboard which will disable the background music.

I did just that and have had no freeze issues at all. I even went back to replay the sections that gave me the problem and did not experience an issue!

Ok, so the mood of the game changes slightly - but I am continuing on without a freeze and hardly noticing the missing background noise.

If anyone is having the freeze issue, muting the background music by hitting the "m" key may help you too.
