There are two different kinds of people in this world: those who finish what they start, and
~Brad Ramsey
<><><><><><><><>

There was this gas station in "redneck country" trying to increase its sales, so the owner put up a sign saying "Free Sex with Fill-up." Soon a "redneck" customer pulled in, filled his tank, and then asked for his free sex.

The owner told him to pick a number from (1) to (10), and if he guessed correctly, he would get his free sex. The buyer then guessed (8) and the proprietor said, "No, you were close. The number was (7). Sorry, no free sex this time but maybe next time".

Some time thereafter, the same man, along with his buddy this time, pulled in again for a fill-up, and again he asked for his free sex. The proprietor again gave him the same story and asked him to guess the correct number. The man guessed (2) this time, and the proprietor said, "Sorry, it was (3). You were close but no free sex this time".

As they were driving away, the driver said to his buddy, "I think that game is rigged and he doesn't give away free sex". The buddy replied, "No, it's not rigged -- my wife won twice last week."

MURPHY'S COMBAT LAWS

Murphy's Laws Of Combat Operations

Friendly fire - isn't.
Recoilless rifles - aren't.
Suppressive fires - won't.

You are not Superman; Marines and fighter pilots take note.

A sucking chest wound is Nature's way of telling you to slow down.

If it's stupid but it works, it isn't stupid.

Try to look unimportant; the enemy may be low on ammo and not want to waste a bullet on you.

If at first you don't succeed, call in an airstrike.

If you are forward of your position, your artillery will fall short.

Never share a foxhole with anyone braver than yourself.

Never go to bed with anyone crazier than yourself.

Never forget that your weapon was made by the lowest bidder.

If your attack is going really well, it's an ambush.

The enemy diversion you're ignoring is their main attack.

The enemy invariably attacks on two occasions: when they're ready. & when you're not.

No OPLAN ever survives initial contact.

There is no such thing as a perfect plan.

Five second fuses always burn three seconds.

There is no such thing as an atheist in a foxhole.

A retreating enemy is probably just falling back and regrouping.

The important things are always simple; the simple are always hard.

The easy way is always mined.

Teamwork is essential; it gives the enemy other people to shoot at.

Don't look conspicuous; it draws fire. For this reason, it is not at all uncommon for aircraft carriers to be known as bomb magnets.

Never draw fire; it irritates everyone around you.

If you are short of everything but the enemy, you are in the combat zone.

When you have secured the area, make sure the enemy knows it too.

Incoming fire has the right of way.

No combat ready unit has ever passed inspection.

An Israeli soldier who just enlisted asked the Commanding Officer for a 3-day pass.

The CO says "Are you crazy? You just join the Israeli army, and you already want a 3-day pass? You must do something spectacular for that recognition!"

So the soldier comes back a day later in an Arab tank!

The CO was so impressed, he asked "How did you do it?"

"Well, I jumped in a tank, and went toward the border with the Arabs. I approached the border, and saw an Arab tank. I put my white flag up, the Arab tank put his white flag up. I said to the Arab soldier, "Do you want to get a three-day pass? So we exchanged tanks!"

ANDY ROONEY

Andy Rooney On Prisoners:
Did you know that it costs forty-thousand dollars a year to house each prisoner? Gee, for forty-thousand bucks apiece, I'll take a few prisoners into my house. I live in Los Angeles. I already have bars on the windows. I don't think we should give free room and board to criminals. I think they should have to run twelve hours a day on a treadmill and generate electricity. And if they don't want to run, they can rest in the chair that's hooked up to the generator.
================================

Andy Rooney On Fabric Softeners:
My wife uses fabric softener. I never knew what that stuff was for. Then I noticed women coming up to me, sniffing, then saying under their breath, "Married!" and walking away. Fabric Softeners are how our wives mark their territory. We can take off the ring, but it's hard to get that April fresh scent out of your clothes.
=================================

Andy Rooney On Morning Differences:
Men and women are different in the morning. We men wake up aroused in the morning. We can't help it. We just wake up and we want you. And the women are thinking, 'How can he want me the way I look in the morning?' It's because we can't see you. We have no blood anywhere near our optic nerve.
==============================

Andy Rooney On Phone-In-Polls:
You know those shows where people call in and vote on different issues? Did you ever notice there's always like 18% that say "I don't know." It costs 90 cents to call up and vote and they're voting "I don't know."
" Honey, I feel very strongly about this. Give me the phone." Says into phone "I DON'T KNOW!" (Hangs up looking proud.) "Sometimes you have to stand up for what you believe you're not sure about."
This guy probably calls up phone sex girls for $2.95 to say "I'm not in the mood."
===============================

Andy Rooney On Grandma:
My grandmother has a bumper sticker on her car that says, 'Sexy Senior Citizen.' You don't want to think of your grandmother that way, do you? Out entering wet shawl contests. Makes you wonder where she got that dollar she gave you for your birthday.
=========================

Andy Rooney On Answering Machines:
Did you ever hear one of these corny, positive messages on someone's answering machine? "Hi, it's a great day and I'm out enjoying it right now. I hope you are too. The thought for the day is: 'Share the love.' Beep."
"Uh, yeah...this is the VD clinic calling....Speaking of being positive, your test results are back. Stop sharing the love."

Awesome weather here. In the mid to high 80's but dry and sunny and lovely breezes. Enjoying being outside chasing cats. Saw the strangest thing yesterday. There was what I thought was a hummingbird, happily getting the goodies from a tall century plant bloom BUT this one was so TINY! Are there tiny hummingbirds? Or maybe a baby hummer who was out of the nest early and a super achiever? It was no bigger than a half-dollar with wings roaring, but it sure looked like a hummer and moved like a hummer. Wow. Gotta do some investigation now.

Also going back to the Falcon site to see if any more eggs were laid. Such fun. Got to see the first one laid.

Penelope here when I got back from shopping. 11 am my time. She's early and ate most of her grapes and sunflower seeds already. She will have a sparse 'supper' since I only fill the dish once. She's nesting on the roof for now. All comfy and in the shade on what will be another very hot day.

Crowded, so crowded at Costco! Every parking spot taken, people parked all over waiting and blocking lanes. Inside, oh wow! Carts stacked so high things were falling off. I've never seen the place so busy. Middle of the month? Don't think it's a major pay day here. Very unusual. I made it in and out fairly quickly (45 minutes from start to finish). Can't believe all the STUFF they were carting out. Wowwwww!

Hello everybody. wave

I didn't find any points today. I found a tool, which would have been used as a blade/scraper, and I found a couple of tips, and a base, and that's after walking around for 4 hours. smirk

It was a fantastic day for going out there, and Baby had a blast running around, but I think she's hurt her back. She's in pain and not moving around much. sad

I had some doggie pain pills that I got from the vet the last time she was in pain, and I'm hoping that helps her a lot.

I have to work tomorrow at 5:00am, and then I'll probably take her to the vet again if she's not better. blush

I should sleep good tonight, because I didn't sleep good last night. I kept waking up, and ended up getting up at 3:00 or so.

I think I was excited about going out there head hunting. yes

I think I am ready for bed right now. lol

I hope you're all having a super day. yes

Yankee Sambo is here and doing just fine. blackkitty

He and Baby will play on the floor, but he misses going outside.

That's one reason I'll be taking him back over to the other place whenever they get moved in. wink
