Many years ago I chased a woman for almost two years, only to discover that her tastes were exactly like mine: we both were crazy about girls.
~Groucho Marx

THERE WAS LIFE BEFORE THE COMPUTER

An application was for employment
A program was a TV show
A cursor used profanity
A keyboard was a piano!

Memory was something that you lost with age
A CD was a bank account!
And if you had a broken disk,
It would hurt when you found out!

Compress was something you did to garbage
Not something you did to a file
And if you unzipped anything in public
You'd be in jail for awhile!

Log on was adding wood to a fire
Hard drive was a long trip on the road
A mouse pad was where a mouse lived
And a backup happened to your commode!

Cut--you did with a pocket knife
Paste you did with glue
A web was a spider's home
And a virus was the flu!

I guess I'll stick to my pad and paper
And the memory in my head
I hear nobody's been killed in a computer crash
But when it happens they wish they were dead!

50 20 FUN THINGS TO DO TO TELEMARKETERS

Talk really fast.

Turn on the TV. Change the channel to one that only gets static. Turn the volume up really loud. Say that you can't hear them over the static.

Make up your own language. Speak it.

Hang up.

Make up a one word language. Speak it.

Say, "This phone line is for emergency use only. Do you have an emergency?"

If they say "Yes" to number 6 say, "Please state the nature of the emergency." Then insist that their emergency isn't an emergency. Hang up.

If they say "No" to number 6 say, "I'm sorry but this line is for emergencies only." Hang up.

Pretend you just took hostages, and make demands.

Pretend that you are a hostage negotiator, and try to get the telemarketer to release the hostages.

Order a large pepperoni pizza, some garlic bread, and a meatball sub.

Pretend that your phone line is an automatic phone sex line.

Dial the phone and say, "Hey! I lent you 50 bucks. You better pay up or else I'm gonna come over there and hurt you! "

Repeatedly dial the phone. Mutter that it isn't ringing.

Claim to be the mafia.

Say, "Moe's tavern Moe speaking."

Say something that Moe would say to Bart after Bart makes a prank call.

Ask him/her if he/she would like a magazine or newspaper subscription.

Ask the telemarketer to find your friend Mike last name Rotch. Claim you will only buy a subscription from them.

Say, "Oh no! It's the Feds! They're on to us!"

Joe may work fly and go well. Thanks for the laughs and have a lovely day!

Spacwe have a lovely day!

Ana thanks for the lovely pics, as usual!! We have been having record breaking temps lately and I am hoping that it will continue! The snow is all gone and they have been out on the lake with the cutter breaking up the ice so shipping can get started soon

I was at the eye docs this morning bright and early and there is a beautiful view of the lake from his office so I see it is still ice covered but that it has been broken up! Have a lovely day!

Haroula have a lovely day!

Gerry thanks for the coffee and have a lovely day!

Midge have fun at work today! Have a lovely day!

Darlene may work fly and go smoothly and you have a lovely day!

wave

Hi L4L get feeling better ipronto as it's too nice outdoors to be in bed!!! Today is a Why Bother day. Went to the nursery for potting soil and came home with -smart natural Happy Frog potting soil for indoor and outdoor plants. With a name like that it better be good. And the big green frog on the bag is truely happy. I bought the big bag and on the way home thought how will I ever get it out of the trunk -but it wasn't as heavy as it looks.

My well fed opossum is dining on dates, soft boiled egg and cantelope. she says it's good.

ButterCup, ShemerBaby and I went on a short walk in the back and we 3 are exhausted now. The sun was hot and felt so good.

Thanks, Ana, how are the shoulders doing? Improving, I hope.

Yankee, you are right. It is way too nice to be inside. I'd really like to take the doggies to the park, and flirted with the idea, but then decided I'd better not. Hubby said he would take them when he gets home tonight.

I can't remember, does possum have a name?

Hi L4L good you're up and about. My sweetest and most beguiling (is that the word?) little 4 legged parasite here does not have a name. And strange I was thinking about that last night that she deserves a name. I believe she is a she because her face is so pretty, that little pink nose and little pink feet and those short whiskers.............Oh my. Any girl name suggestions are welcome. I've had so many pets I'm out of names.

Just back from the Elder Scrolls thread and....I've found my Morrowind game!!!! All 4 discs. Morrowind, Bloodmoon,Tribunal and Construction Set. Gosh we got alot whem we bought a game back then. And who posted -So many games, so little time. Well, on to Mordor -he's kinda handsom.

Afternoon, Space wave

Yep, Yankee, rested a bit and then went out and sat on the porch in the sun, and now getting ready to cook a fast dinner. If she is a girl, you could call her Polly or Posie.

I'm so sorry your shoulders are being annoying. Hang in there. I know it took a long time with son. Hugs to you! puppy
