I'm stuck at Villa Jole- I'm suppose to talk to the niece.I ring the buzzer but nothing happens. Tried to put the cheese on the cup and that won't work either. How do I get niece to talk to me? Diane wave <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="confused.gif" />

Here's a link to the walkthrough for this game at this site. I believe the niece wants the caciocavallo, which looks a bit like the mozarella cheese, but the difference is that the cheese is the one in the little glass dish, while the caciocavallo isn't in any dish. Maybe you're trying to give the wrong thing to the niece? If I recall, you need to keep the cheese for a salad later. Hope this helps. Have fun, and good luck! laugh

Help I'm stuck again. I'm at Villa jovis with the key and the post card from Costanzo. I'm not understanding the time machine am I suppose to do something with it? The key will not let me in the villa. Besides picking up the letter from the Charterhouse was I suppose to do something eles there? Diane

The time machine will be needed later. Just be sure to save your game before you enter the Charterhouse later in the game. The Time Machine is not needed at Villa Jovis.

Presuming that you have done everything needed before you enter (which I think you did), the key that you got from Constanzo together with the postcard should work on the gate. Try again.

Grasping at straw - Are you sure you're at Villa Jovis? Are you using the correct key? smile

I've gone over everything and it looks like I've done everything right. Are you saying I put the key on the postcard in the inventory? Yes I'm at the gate to the right of the the double doors. There is no hot spot on the gate. Is there another gate near here? Maybe I have wrong gate? Thks Diane

I do think you're at the wrong gate.
The gate at Villa Jovis is a single grilled door. It is at the very end of the path going up the hill. Check the map to see where you are.
I can tell you from personal experience, that this climb is very tiring. I had to rest a lot and drink a lot (no WC in sight laugh ) especially for an old fogie. smile

Hope I didn't miss a step:

From the formerly blue warped door:
Climb metal steps.
L at top, F and L at middle opening.
L, down steps until grilled door on archway.
R before this grilled door, down steps, L to arched alcove.
R and F through dark hall to end.
R, down steps and out to scaffolding.
F to columns.
F to main steps.
R down steps to main gate.

Good luck! oops forgot to drop bread crumbs.
