I started this game today to see what it was like then made a save and quit.

Later I went back and played a little more - after which I tried to make a second save.

But I only appeared able to overwrite my previous one woozy

Surely this is not a "one save" game ??

Can anyone please offer advice ??

[I have the GOG version.]

Cheers.

I seem to remember that the game has frequent autosaves in case you need to backtrack. I just played through and stopped when the game autosaved. F5 for quick save and F9 for quick load. A super game!! There is a walkthrough here http://www.gamefaqs.com/mac/680933-tesla-effect-a-tex-murphy-adventure/faqs/70564 if you need it. wave

The game supports multiple saves, did you name the new save or just overwrite the old one?

Hi smile

I just now launched the game again and went directly to the "Load" option.

There are only two save games to choose from because every time I tried to save previously I had to "overwrite".
The earliest game load is labelled "AutoSave" and the later one is labelled "manual AutoSave".

[How can you have a manual autosave ??]

Anyway, I chose the later one and played for a few minutes. Then I clicked on the ESC Key {to try saving again) and selected the "Save" option.

When I select "Save" a small box appears on screen with "Overwrite Save Game" written in the top half and "Overwrite the existing manual AutoSave" written in the bottom half.

I don't see any place to create and label a new save woozy

I must be doing something wrong but I have no idea what !!!! So I hope someone can please point me in the right direction ....

Cheers.

Mad,

Sorry I can't be of much help because I can't remember how I did it. I think you have to name those manual saves. I don't have the game installed and it has been awhile. The good news is I have 105 saves so I know you can do it. The saves are titled such as save_2014-05-08_22-27-20_Day1Louie.sav As I recall I named that save Day 1 Louie and the game added the rest. It appears that was made on May 5 of last year.

The good news is you can do it. The bad is I don't remember how I did it.

I'm sure somebody will know but at least it tells you there is a way to sort the mystery.

When you see the list of Save Games, peruse down to the bottom (below the list, above the Delete button) - type a name in the box and press Save.

Got another question now !! lol

When I bought The Tesla Effect last year, there was "the game + patch" to download from GOG.

Now when I look there is only "the game" - which I am presuming is a patched version.

So would you say that my "game plus patch" is still OK ??

I don't want to play too far into the game without knowing in case it isn't and I have to re-download and start over eek

[I did post this question on the Forum at GOG but haven't received a reply so far.]

Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers.

I would assume that it's already patched Mad - when I purchased my copy there was no patch. Played through without issues.

Thanks, InlandAZ. I'm going to gamble that that's the case and play on grin
