Manxman and Crispeto, where are you??? Is either of you past the Snake Room? I could use some help. Are the snakes mechanical or just for effect?

You can change the direction of the six snake heads which in turn changes the direction of the flow of water (or stops it). There are two diagrams in the tunnel way which indicate the desired flow of water. When you have set the snakes then pull the lever in front of the big snake (using bull headed staff if you have it) and if you have set the heads correctly a door should open giving you a key. Good luck. BTW The bull headed spear is easily obtained in another room. The trick is to leave that room without getting sliced and diced smile
From the perch move step by step to the left after the first spike wall falls. Wait for the next to raise then walk ahead, and wait for the next wall to rise. Then walk to the edge of where the spikes come out of the floor and run to the door when the spikes lower. At the same time avoid running into the door blade. Then go as fast as you can to the middle of the hall and time it just right. The middle of that hall is the hardest part.

Sometimes lost is where you need to be. Just because you don't know your direction doesn't mean you don't have one.

It is so linear that I have not progressed in this game for a week now. Stuck in the "elevator room" (got the elevator up but can't get it down so that I can get on it) and stuck in the Bull room with 4 keys that don't work. (got 3 keys from the boat maze). If you or MaG have got this far I would reeeeeeeally appreciate help smile smile

With regards to the elevator room, the only way we've been able to figure out to get past it is to move the wheel into place and run onto the elevator before it goes up. It's tricky and if you get to the cut scene, you're too late. It helps to do a couple of turns of the wheel and know ahead of time when to start running.

The trick to getting on the elevator is to hit enter to turn the wheel, and immediately spin yourself around to dash over to the elevator.

Yes, indeed, and I obviously have failed Pictogram 101. I thought I understood what I was supposed to do, but still no open door. Could I get a hint, pls? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="confused.gif" />

As you are facing the big snake.....
first pair face toward you,
second pair face away from you,
third pair face toward you ( and the one in the middle faces away from you )

Ok... I posted earlier about it, but I'll see if I can add a bit more. From the times that you get it turned to the proper place and then not getting on the elevator, I assume you know what the proper combination of the wheel is. So what you have to try to do is get it to the spot that is 2 turns before the right combination. Then hit enter twice... hopefully it will register both of them, and while it is doing those 2 turns, you have a bit of time to get on the elevator.

I don't think this is necessarily the right way to do this, but it worked for me. But then again, maybe it is the right way to do it. Who knows.

I read a post somewhere else - can't remember if it was in this forum or another one - where someone claimed to have pulled the lever and stopped the elevator from going all the way up. But I haven't been able to get that to work for me.

Good luck smile

Not quite that far. How do you do the waterwheel? Know has something to do with the phases of the moon. Have tried turning the wheels and lowering the slabs so you see whats behind it but still no water. Should I have picked up anything before now?

Acornia, if you look around on the upper level you will see a mural of each animal. Make a note of the symbol above each one, then go down to the bottom level and pull down each slab to see what animal is behind it. Then raise the slab and position the left hand with the wheel to the same position as the symbol for that animal. It will be either horizontal, vertical, or diagonal. Then lower the slab again. Do that with all six slabs. When you get it right the water wheel will turn and the water will flow.

Elevator-I did it! One slightly used saved game for sale <heehee>. Seriously, I figured out finally what AuntieS was probably telling us and I didn't listen. Use the mouse (R click when you are ready for the final wheel spin) to turn Raven around and hit the 'run' arrow and...Shazam! happydance

I'm with you manx - I haven't done the bull room or the spinning knives room. I'm in the Chime room right now not having a clue what I'm doing. I somehow hit one of the chimes and it lowered a slab in the opposite room but can't for the life of me figure out the rhyme or reason to it nor can I get the next slab to go down frown

Ok - don't worry about missing those rooms. You will have the chance to go back and do them. After the elevator room, there's a spot that you open up that allows you to go back where you were and to freely wander back and forth.

OK, I'm in the room with the spears at one end and the other end has knobs for wheels, I guess, but what do I do?

I've tried to pick up everything (using the Enter key), but nothing seems to happen.

Also, I've been to the room with the Bull's head staff and I can't pick up the staff. The only blade that is swinging is the one by the door. Is this a bug?

Thanks for any help.

Hi Satch,

The game is verrrrrrrry picky about Raven positioning himself directly in front of objects, for the most part. In a few exceptions, 'close' is good enough.

The spear can be easily picked up. ...only 'one' blade swinging? Just wait!

The room with the spears in it is the now famous 'elevator room'. The one with the staff is the 'sin room'. Check out some of the other posts here.

Ok, that's it, I'm about to give up. I cannot get out of the sin room. A couple more trys and that's it. Grrrr. Doesn't seem like much of an adventure. I'm just running around trying to save my ass-teroids. What am I doing wrong?

What do you see Crispeto? I see URU Live!

If you get thoroughly fed up with it, there's a thread in the dreamcatcher forums with a link to a saved game someone has that's just past the sin room. Also, there are some people here who have obtained it from somewhere... just do a bit of poking around smile

OK, I have the bull head staff and have made it past the slicer and dicer. I'm in the serpent room and have set the small snakes as directed earlier. But when I go to the front of the big snake and try to open the double doors with the bull head staff, nothing happens. Is this one of those places where you have to be within the exact pixil, or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for any help.

Satch, Try checking the arrangement of the water and the snake's head. You might have missed a turn of a head. You are to follow the directions of the stand closest to room.
One triangle means the snake's head is towards the door.
2 triangles means it faces the single stair at the back with the water source. wave

Thanks MaG but that didn't seem to work. According to the last stand before the door, the first pair of small snakes face toward the stairs, the second pair face toward the door, the third pair face the stairs and the snake at the tail face the door. But when I try to use the bull head staff on the doors at the front of the large snake, nothing happens.

Do I have it correct?

Not on the doors but on the green thing in front of the snake. Has a lever like spot. Stand in front of it facing the snake.

Thanks acornia, that did the trick. I got the key and went back to the room with the suspended ladder at the far end and used the key on the slots on either side of the stairs, but nothing seemed to happen.

Am I in the right room? From previous posts, it seems I need more keys. How do you find them?

Thanks

You don't need any more keys for that room. After you use the key on both sides of the stairs, you can now pull the spears right beside the keyholes. Then you'll have access to something you didn't previously have access to.

OK, now I have access to the wheels to use on the thing at the end of the room. Where do I find the pattern so I know hhow to set the moveable mural?

I looked in the note book, but if the clue is there I didn't see it.
