Usual deal - I give you the clues (not in the correct order ), you solve the squares. -1. One-time Men's Wimbledon Champion, American Moon of Saturn or large 3-toed bird Gelatin-like product, used for thickening Uncultivated scrubland -2. Vegetable-oil spread Protrude, swell out Boisterous frolic List -3. Pack tightly Aid Dubious tale Red -4. Grain stem Location device Count on Headwear Blemishes … and now one for those who find the above far too easy. This one is not symmetrical - the across answers are different from the down answers, and (as you might have guessed) both sets of clues are mixed together. -5. Type of horse System of philosophy Cries of dissent Unit of force Vocal range Terminates Dull Old Enjoy! Rog To waste one second of one's life is a betrayal of one's self. I wonder what's on television...?

If the W in AWAIT and the R in TIARA were instead the same letter then the first line would be the reverse of the fifth, the second the reverse of the fourth and the center line a palindrome. Pretty cool! Bob As I've grown older, I've found that my memory is not as good as I used to think it was.

I mistyped it as "BUSH" in one direction, and when I came back later to write the clues, I wrote the clue for "BUSH". Sorry - I will go and perform ritual hurry-curry in the greenhouse...
