Broken Sword 5 on Steam.

I have a problem with the screen resolution with this game. I cannot see the "inventory".

I am stuck at the cockroach thing ...... Please help me!

While waiting for help from the experts, see if you can play with the visual settings (fullscreen selection) under Options.

The visual settings are for speech text, speech subtitles, UI, Achievements announce and fullscreen selections.

There are some suggestions in this Steam thread
https://steamcommunity.com/app/262940/discussions/0/648813576331442323/

Use the "disable desktop composition" in the Compatibility settings (right-click the game shortcut on the desktop or the game exe in the game folder --> Properties --> Compatibility tab --> check the checkbox for "disable desktop composition" and save the change)

Or "For Windows 8.1 users, disable display scaling on high DPI settings on the BS5 exe"

Thanks Jenny,

I run Win 8.1 and had to right click on the actual Steam icon on my desktop to get the "disable display scaling on high DPI settings" (not BS5.exe icon) and that worked. Now I can see the inventory at the bottom left of the screen and also the Main Menu icon at the top left of the screen. Thank you.

Glad dazza826's advice about "disable display scaling on high DPI settings" helped you, even if he did say to use BS5.exe icon.

Now I have further problems. Steam is telling me I have to re-download the game, again, but won't allow me to. I was playing it last evening!

Geeze.

I opened my Laptop and immediately got into BS5 ... but at the beginning.

Where does Steam hide the saves?

I mean, BS5 is so boring that I have not played it much but ...

Sorry to be such a bother ......

I just figured that other gamers might appreciate that it isn't their fault that sometimes a game goes "berserk" for no other reason than "because".

EDIT:

All's well. I found the saves, they are in My Documents under the name of the game.

Steam will do that if there's an update to the game.
