For the past two or so weeks, have been getting popups stating errors from MWB. Contacted them, they sent two updates, both of which last approx. 2 days each. Have notified them of this and am getting tired of this c..p. If they can't fix it, is there an opinion of another anti-spyware/virus program that is good or better?

Thanks.

It's hard to advise if we don't know what these popups say. Do you have Malwarebytes Pro or the free Malwarebytes? Something doesn't sound right here...

Have you run a scan with your antivirus program?

What do you mean "Updates last 2 days each"?

Yeah, Geo... none of this is adding up.

I have the paid-for version. The popup says: SDKDatabase load defaults failed with code 2. MWB has sent me "fixes" which they also called updates, after I contacted them. They have been very helpful and I just noticed they sent me new instructions, which I haven't followed yet. I've had MWB for a year in June, with no previous problems. They appear to be a good company. After I follow their most recent steps, will post here and tell what, if anything, helped. Thanks everyone.

There is a solution on their site. Perhaps it is the same as they sent you.

Thanks Pokey. Visited site and some, if not all, are basically what MWB has sent me. Useful to know also, other people having same problem.

Knowing the text of that popup helps - it's so hard to figure out what is happening without full information. It was sort of sounding like you might not have the "real" Malwarebytes, but it seems it's happening to others too. I would keep working with them as they are the ones to figure this out for you.

I would be curious to know what anti-virus you use along with Malwarebytes... There are not supposed to be conflicts, but maybe??

I have Microsoft Essentials. However, in their history setting, they never show they've found anything. In MWB's latest instructions, they say to disable it. All I've been able to do is "unpin" it from the task bar. Is that sufficient? Thanks.

No, all that does is remove a quick shortcut. You will have to go to the actual program and disable it.

How to Temporarily Disable Security Essentials

How often do you run a full scan with Security Essentials?

You're better than I am! I'm lucky if I remember to do it once a month...

I believe I said I'd post again about the issue I was having with MWB popups. One of their support team spent a lot of time with me helping to resolve the problem. Hopefully, it won't recur. I did send a thank you to him and also to the company.

Also, thanks everyone here for your input.

I sure hope it STAYS resolved this time. They are very good about customer service... Anything specific to your computer or to an update that caused it? I also have Malwarebytes Pro and haven't had any issues like that at all.

It appears other people were having the same, or similar, problems. I don't think it was my computer, as I've had MWB for a year in June with no previous problems.

The popup is baaack! MWB has advised me to install Adware Blocker. Is that a reliable program?

Thanks.
