In olden times, sacrifices were made at the altar, a practice that still continues.
Helen Rowland
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two women were sitting in the doctor's waiting room comparing notes on their
various disorders.
"I want a baby more than anything in the world," said the first, "But I guess it is impossible."
"I used to feel just the same way," said the second. "But then everything changed. That's why I'm here. I'm going to have a baby in three months."
"You must tell me what you did."
"I went to a faith healer."
"But I've tried that. My husband and I
went to one for nearly a year and it didn't help a bit."
The other woman smiled and whispered, "Try going alone, next time, dearie."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A secretary walked into her boss's office & said, "I'm afraid I've got some bad news for you."

"Why do you always have to give me bad news?" he complained.

"Tell me some good news for once."

"Alright, here's some good news," said the secretary.

"You're not sterile."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A woman says to her husband that she wants to have plastic surgery to enlarge her breasts.
Her husband tells her, "Hey, you don't need surgery to do that. I know how to do it without surgery."
She asks, "How do I do it without surgery?"
Her husband answers, "Just rub toilet paper between them."
"How does that make them bigger?", she asks.
"I don't know, but it certainly worked for your butt."
A doctor, a nurse, and the top executive of an HMO have all died and are in line together at the Pearly Gates.
St. Peter speaks with them and asks what good each has done in their life.
Doctor: "I have devoted my life to the sick and needy and have had a part in caring for, and healing thousands of poor people."
St. Peter: "That's great. Go ahead in to heaven. And what about you, dear?"
Nurse: "I've supported the good doctor and his patients my entire life as an adult."
St. Peter: "Wonderful. Please proceed in with the doctor. And what about you?"
Health Maintenance Organizaton Director: "I was the president of a very large HMO and was responsible for the healthcare of millions of people all over the country."
St. Peter: "Oh, I see. Please go in.. but you can only stay two nights!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

An old man visits his doctor and after thorough examination the doctor tells him: "I have good news and bad news, what would you like to hear first?"

Patient: "Well, give me the bad news first."

Doctor: "You have cancer, I estimate that you have about two years left."

Patient: "Oh no! That's awefull! In two years my life will be over! What kind of good news could you probably tell me, after this??"

Doctor: "You also have Alzheimer's. In about three months you are going to forget everything I told you."

The owner of a drugstore arrives at work to find a man leaning heavily against a wall.

The owner goes inside and asks his clerk what’s up.

"He wanted something for his cough, but I couldn’t find the cough syrup," the clerk explains. "So I gave him a laxative and told him to take it all at once."

"Laxatives won’t cure a cough, you idiot," the owner shouts angrily.

"Sure it will," the clerk says, pointing at the man leaning on the wall. "Look at him. He’s afraid to cough."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Smiths were shown into the dentist's office, where Mr. Smith made it clear he was in a big hurry.
"No fancy stuff, Doctor," he ordered, "No gas or needles or any of that stuff. Just pull the tooth and get it over with."
"I wish more of my patients were as stoic as you," said the dentist admiringly. "Now, which tooth is it?"
Mr. Smith turned to his wife.."Show him, honey."
Good morning everyone. yay
It is another cloudy, rainy day. I'm on my second cup, trying to relax before I have to get ready for work. yes
I work 1:00 to 10:00 tonight and tomorrow, then off for two days. bravo
I almost dread my days off because I have things I want to do, overshadowed by so much I need to get done. smirk
I want to thank everyone again for supporting Joe's Diner, and for helping to celebrate it the last couple of days. urock
I want to thank MaG, and Ana again and again, for everything you do. hearts
Magnificent Monday ya'll puppy
Daughter and I popped up bright and early and headed to the park with the doggies. For a bit there, I was too cool...wishing I'd worn sweats, but warmed up after a few rounds. Had a great walk under a bright blue sky. Super windy though, which set my allergies kicking up.
Then home to test drive the freezer biscuit recipe I found for her. Made them yesterday. They cook directly from the freezer. Not sure they were my favorite but she liked them. Will be nice for her as she can make, freeze, cook in the mornings before work.
Then feeding monkey men and women, followed by monthly pill making. After posting I have to put together a list of all medications, amounts, dosage, frequency etc for a new doctor I'm seeing tomorrow, as well as a list of health issues. He is a long way from the house. I didn't like the last doctor I had, but hung in there not wanting to make waves and hoping it'd get better. It never did. If I don't like him tomorrow, I'm submitting change paperwork immediately, but hopefully, he'll be wonderful!
Pondering dinner....... I think hubby will be home early to visit with daughter. She leaves this week and I will be sad.
We all watched the Russel Crowe movie "Noah" last night. Whoa.... quite disappointing. There were a few elements I thought well done, but overall wondered if they had actually read the story. Glad we watched it for free. I would have been really mad if I'd paid for that.
Back later wave
Hi everyone. I haven't been here today. I've been kinda quiet since about 4:30 yesterday. On my way to work, about a mile and a half from where I live, there was a horrendous car accident that had just happened. The ambulance and fire trucks hadn't even arrived yet. What a horrible accident. There was a person laying in the road and the car was really flattened from the back. Someone covered her or him with a blanket. I couldn't tell if the person was still alive. There was no movement. Someone hit the car from the back and there was no back anymore. The person had to be going very fast. If there was anybody in the back seat I can't imagine living through something like that. As I started up the car and drove for about half a mile, the fire truck whizzed past me so I figured that he was on his way to the accident. I prayed that that person laying in the road was going to be OK.
It really hit me hard. sad
Midgie hearts
Just do it.
