I cannot get through this. If it were words, I can type at least 50 wpm, but trying to hit these random letters has me stuck. Does anyone have any suggestions how to get through this? Is there a cheat? ANYTHING??? I'm sick to death of that weenie Nigel telling me I'm worse than his chinchilla!

Thanks

WW

WW,

I sent you a saved game that follows the wt. But they say you can hit the keys randomly and fast and you might get a higher score. It works for some.

Hi WW
Had exactly the same problem but managed to do it with a combination of hitting some of the letters and numbers I saw, bashing at the keys randomly (numbers and letters) and turning the caps lock on and off all as quickly as possible. Doing it this way I managed to start of with a speed over 60wpm - the problem was maintaining it!- but I just managed to finish on 30wpm.
Nigel's typing test is one of the most tedious pointless puzzles I've come across! - Take the save game!

Good Morning Wysewomon, I had the same problem with the typing test! I just did like Chrissie and just kept hitting keys all over the keyboard as fast as I could. Didn't matter what keys I hit.

Eventually I passed the test! Good Luck! smile woozy smile

Update:

Well, I did it! Like you guys said, I just hit keys randomly as fast as I could and I ended up scoring 50 wpm!

BOY, was THAT pointless!!!!!

Haven't had a chance to play for a couple of days... I guess the typing test kind of squelched my enthusiasm, because I was playing obsessively when I first got this but then I just lost interest. Also getting tired of constantly having to reset the clock to get to a time when I can accomplish anything... Anyway, solved the pillars but can't figure out what that accomplished and ran around waving my wand at the gargoyles but it didn't seem to do anything. So I guess I'm stuck with going back to the moving rooms. I was there once and just as I figured them out I took a wrong turn and something big fell and squashed me.

WW, this game is almost totally non-linear--which unfortunately makes it almost impossible to tell what you might still have to finish. I would suggest that you go to the Blackmoor Manor walkthrough, and read through it until you hit something that you haven't finished yet. That should be enough to get you moving again... luck

Hi Jenny--

I did download the U-hints file and looked at the list of puzzles. it seems like the moving rooms is next up.

Good luck with the moving room, WW--I hope you do better with that than I'm doing with minature golf... blush cry

Minature Golf????

Like I said, I was in the moving rooms once and figured out how to use the map. Then He Who Shall Not Be Named said, "Let's see what happens if you go to the room with the devil horns!"

SQUISH.

I'm assuming the proper course is to go to the angel room.

Wysewomon, if you want to enjoy the game again... get the "cheat" for those moving rooms. woozy There's a simple trick to it; wandering and exploring the rooms won't get you anywhere but the nuthouse. lol

And Jenny... shame I'm, like, sooooo jealous of you. I feel no sympathy for your struggle, because you already have that new ND game in your hot little... ummm... computer!!!

But I wish they'd explained the significance of the rock. I was expecting some relic of Charles I.
Yeah, you're right. I had no idea why that rock was so important to Jane, or anyone else. I know the game gives hints about it (meteorite or something) -- but I don't remember an explanation about the value of that rock. LOL, it must have been important -- because that box was set to trap anyone who tried to take it.

BTW... after I posted about the "non-timed" timed ending, I remembered that there was -- briefly -- a timed puzzle in the ending; and I did get caught and died, at first. As the ending sequence begins, Jane and Nancy are near each other; and Jane reaches for the rock. If you (Nancy) don't quickly 'click out' to move away from Jane... you get trapped with her inside the box; and both of you do die. eek I guess the writers thought it was okay for Jane to die with Nancy -- but not without her. wink
