can they play on window 8 because i got an error message when i try to play in game manager, but they work by icon on my desktop, and i can deal with the pink square.

The Big Fish web pages for the games say that they support Windows 8. If you can get them running, great. If you find yourself unable to play one or both of them, you can always write to their Tech Support for assistance. I always start my Big Fish games through their desktop icons.
