It's better to have loved and lost than to do forty pounds of laundry a week.

Why does moisture destroy leather? When it’s raining, cows don’t go up to the farmhouse yelling, “Let us in! We’re all wearing leather! We’re going to ruin the whole outfit here!”

A lion comes across two
men, one reading and the other
writing. The beast pounces on and devours the reader but ignores the writer. Why? Because, as everyone knows, a writer cramps while a reader digests.

A priest, a minister, and a rabbi want to see who’s best at his job. So they each go into the woods, find a bear, and attempt to convert it.

Later they get together. The priest begins: “When I found the bear, I read to him from the Catechism and sprinkled him with holy water. Next week is his First Communion.”

“I found a bear by the stream,” says the minister, “and preached God’s holy word. The bear was so mesmerized that he let me baptize him.”

They both look down at the rabbi, who is lying on a gurney in a body cast. “Looking back,” he says, “maybe I shouldn’t have started with the circumcision.”

Tired of waiting in the back of the line to get on Noah’s Ark, a flea jumps from one animal to another as she moves closer to the front. She leaps and leaps until she lands on the back of an elephant. The pachyderm turns to its mate and says testily, “I knew it! Here they go with the pushing and shoving!”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Poodle: “My life is a mess. My owner is mean, my girlfriend is leaving me for a German shepherd, and I’m nervous as a cat.”
Collie: “Why don’t you go see a psychiatrist?”
Poodle: “I can’t. I’m not allowed on the couch.”
Did you hear that NASA has launched several cows into orbit?
It was the herd shot around the world.
An old farmer is inconsolable after his dog goes missing. He takes out an ad in the newspaper, but two weeks later, there’s still no sign of the mutt. “What did you write in the ad?” his wife asks. “ ‘Here, boy,’ ” he replies.
Fantastic Friday ya'll puppy
Hubby and the doggies and I were all up early and off to the park. It was cool enough out there for a jacket at first. Not many folks there this morning. Round and round we went til we tired out the Kman. Then hubby let him wander and sniff for a bit while I did one more lap with the other guys.
Home to do our normal routine. Finally made it to the computer. I have an hour to sit and surf and sip before I need to go make smoothies. Son won't eat in the morning but he will drink a smoothie on the way out the door.
Seagy has her monthly check up this afternoon. Keoki is going to tag along for a K-Laser treatment. He has been a little poky lately. Not wanting to get up in the morning to go to the park, though he is fine once we get him going, just like me. I had to laugh this morning when hubby woke me up and asked "Do you want to get up and go walk the dogs?" My answer...."I never Want to get up, but the dogs have to walk."
That will be a full day for me so may see if hubby will pick up dinner on the way home. Was going to make Chicken Misala but don't have chicken breasts in the freezer. I can't stop while I'm out with the dogs as it will be too hot (90) and I don't think I have it in me to go out before the vet. We shall see.
Hubby and I are going to see "King Lear" this Sunday for Mother's Day. We have seen it before. It is nearly 3 hours long, but the last time we saw it they had trimmed it down. I'll be interested to see if they do this time as well.
Joe, "herd shot around the world." rotfl
Midgy, have a great day.
Ana, wave
Haroula, beach for you today?
Gerry, thanks for the coffee.
Connie, thanks for the bacon sandwiches. I'm starving!
Gail, have a great day!
Darlne, enjoy your short day. Happy skooshing.
Anyone heard from Doc?
Back later wave
RAIN! We finally have some much needed rain. Our city (and state) have declared a drought and are making all sorts of mandates to get everyone to save water. The latest one is NO ONE can water their lawns! They will fine people caught with green grass. They want all homes and businesses to let the grass die, then plant some drought friendly things.
I'm way ahead of the game since my lawn is non-existent. It's been weeds and dirt for years. Yesterday, before the rain, I had my yard kid mow and weed whack everything down to the roots and now I have basically dirt for a yard. Guess I won't be getting any fines.
Trees, however, are allowed to be watered. Thank goodness someone is thinking straight. Somehow, I suspect that the 'artificial grass' companies have someone on the panels who make up these rules as everyone is talking about putting that down instead of grass. And the cactus industry will benefit too.
We also have restrictions on home water use in general. They are giving us 'target' usage amounts in each bill. The last bill I just got was under the suggested usage (hooray!) but since it was lower, they have given me an even LOWER target for the next billing cycle. Geez! You conserve and they penalize you for that. They are talking about adding a 'per unit charge' to your bill if you go over the 'suggested amount'. It's anywhere from a dollar to six dollars a unit. Not fun.
Had I known the city was going to do all this 'target usage' stuff, I'd have made sure that my water usage (including my tenants) was high for the past few months so when they arrived at the target usage, I'd have a larger amount to use. Now my usage is based on my LOWEST usage for the last 6 months. Can't win.
So the RAIN is much appreciated today. I hope it fills up the reservoirs and stops the insanity. Can you imagine all the schools without grass areas??? Or our parks? Yup, they are mandating that schools and parks stop watering the grass. I can hardly wait to see what happens next. scared
Drought is rough. I feel your "cooperate and they penalize you" as the power companies did that here years ago. We all cooperated to use less and so they got a rate increase because "profits are down."
Enjoy the rain! wave
Hi everyone.
Bill and I finished distributing 5 yards of mulch in the gardens and pathways. Looks nice though it was a job.
I have been having problems with my hands swelling and breaking out in what looks like a rash. I'm almost sure it is psoriatic arthritis. Can't get in to see a rheumatologist until Oct. So, I suffer with it until it dies down and hope it doesn't flare up again for awhile. Just don't know what to do for it.
Have a big rehearsal Saturday and a concert Sunday. May have to take some Ibuprofen in order to play.
Lyric is at the groomer getting beautified. We still haven't gotten Cory's wheels adjusted to him yet. Gotta work on that soon. He is such a trooper
Hope everyone has a great day.
Hello everybody. wave
We're waiting for another round of storms tonight, and we have about 80% to 90% chance. I got woke up several times last night by the thunder and pounding rain, and Baby jumping on and off the bed. eek
Tomorrow is 100% chance of storms. smirk
I'm tired. I've been up since 3:30, and I'm ready for bed already. tired
I'm hoping it's cool and kinda dry in the morning, and I'll probably take Baby to the creek again. lab
The sky is getting dark, and I'm having trouble with my connection. I hope I can get this posted, and the diner posted. yes
Have a nice evening everyone. yes
WE had a good storm this afternoon too Joe. Thunder boomed so loud it shook the wall and knocked off 3 large canvas and metal photos off the wall crashing onto my desk and knocking over my monitor, I had a mess!
Be careful of the snakes if you go out!
