hi, i just started this game and have some basic questions. i don't suppose MaGtRo wrote a walkthrough for this game as that's too bad - i can't find one. what do these unnamed icons do? how do i call up and see my inventory? do i respond to ALL the dialogue on screen? the best walkthrough i could find is Eurogamer but it doesn't address these very basic questions. robert.

My understanding is that Grim Fandango Remastered has in-game instructions about how the controls work, and that there is an option for a point-and-click interface. I don't have the game so can't provide more specific information; maybe someone else will.

And yes, I would say that you should respond to all the dialogue on the screen (I'm basing my answer on the original version of the game).

There appear to be several walkthroughs HERE Maybe one of them could be useful ??

EDIT :
Having briefly looked at a couple of them they seem to be for the original game - even though the page is headed "Re-mastered".
So if the original and re-mastered versions of the game are different maybe they won't be useful after all duh

I'm sorry, Robert, I don't have the game so am unable to answer your question. Hopefully someone else will be able to advise you here.

the only keyboard keys that I used were the 'I' key for inventory and then the arrow key (left or right arrow) to cycle through the inventory. After you have an inventory item selected and you pressed the enter key, it would use it on something. (if memory serves me right).

I don't know what the controls are for this game and can't find any information online about this. Let's wait for someone who has played the game who can help you. This is of course assuming that your question is related to the interface and not in regards to a puzzle. If you are looking for a puzzle solution, let us know.

Here are the instructions from a walkthrough:

Quote:
Climb back out the window and down the rope. (You may need to press the up and right arrow keys to maneuver your way across the ledge).

The up and right arrow keys probably don't apply here because you are playing the Remastered version of the game, but maybe these instructions will help. Is it possible you need to maneuver your way across the ledge first, as the walkthrough states?

Robert, when you see Manny look at the rope, you have to either press the "enter" key and if that doesn't do anything, press the alt key. and if that doesn't work, press the ctrl key. I believe it is just the enter key (but, maybe wrong) the only thing is that you have to make sure that Manny is 'looking' at the rope. he can't just be standing there. I hope this helps.

I can't remember what walkthrough. I played this game when it first came out and I remembered most of the puzzles. This remastered version sure made it a lot more enjoyable though!

If your using the point and click option, then you walk to the right edge and you should see an arrow pointing down.

Being as I haven't played the game, I'm most likely a poor judge, Robert, but I'll give you some choices (maybe you haven't seen some of these already):

If all else fails, there is also this:

The above is a sampling - maybe others reading this thread can recommend what they consider to be the most helpful walkthrough. smile
