So close to the end I think but stuck trying to get out of the cave. Something went wrong when I left the game a few days ago, don't think the "save" worked properly. I'd translated the Tabula correctly, put the stone into the ornate frame with the candle lit, turned the statue and even heard Nico say she thought she'd found the way out of the cave. That's when I left it but on coming back to the game the button that's supposed to be pressed in the niche doesn't even show up, so over and over again I've taken the stone in and out of the frame, moved the statue again, looked and commented on the figures etc. in the niche and also on the two pillars, still nothing. Unfortunately the last save is from way back in Paris - could have sworn I had at least a couple more saves since then, in fact I know I did but somehow they've vanished - drat it in the Chapel, in Spain etc etc. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jo.

Thanks for that, only thing is the BS5 I meant was The Serpents Curse, I did find a site with a couple of saves but they're not the right ones either. Oh well, can't be helped, don't think I want to go way back to Paris and start again from there somehow! LOL

Thanks MacG, the link you edited was the one I tried but that actually seems to only cover the first half of BS5 not the second part which is what I was playing.

Thanks for the save Winfrey, I've a problem unfortunately, when I installed them they all showed up O.K. but can't actually use them as a message comes up saying - can't find global hash (seen_aircon) whatever that may mean. First of all I zipped my own saves and installed yours and got that message then took them out, put my own back and just installed your last one along with mine but still got the same message. The save shows up when I click on restore O.K. but doesn't work, even though I can still use mine from my last save (which was actually way back in Dec. last year!!)

Thanks so very much for trying to help though, really appreciate it.

Jo.

There are 2 files for each chapter.. are you placing both in there??

Yes I did put both files in, I'd taken my own all out first and put all of yours in so don't know what went wrong. Late yesterday I decided to just go over it all again from the old last save and just click through all the conversations as quickly as possible - also looked at the walkthrough when I couldn't remember what had gone before so will play it all again now I guess. Wasn't going to do that but hate leaving a game that's quite good unfinished! LOL
Thanks once again for all your suggestions.

Jo.

Just wondered - my saves are only numbered 0 to 8. Maybe you have labeled beyond 8 and that is why it is not read.

Hadn't thought of that, I would have had (or tried to have had) more than 8 saves, maybe that's all you're able to have with that game, can't find any info. on that but anyway I'm nearly up to the part where I lost the original saves now by rushing through and consulting the walkthrough every now and then. Also I'm making sure that I just overwrte the old saves so the latest ones seem to be staying at the moment.
Thanks anyway,
Jo.

JoAJ,

I made folders in the saved game folder and placed copies of saves in there.
Then I overwrite the existing saves and keep made saves in new folders. I labeled the folders based on the chapters of the saves done. I have the whole game stored in 3 or 4 folders.
No need to lose saves.
In case - you want to replay, keep the working saves and then replace them with copies of the saves you want. Enjoy.

Oh, good idea MaG, not something I've ever done but certainly good advice - never really lost save games before in all the years I've played games (from around 192/3).
Jo.
