I found this game in a bargain bin. It's pretty old, but maybe somebody remembers it.

I've got as far as the tomb and the disappearing statue but I can't get Low on to the crypt. According to the walkthrough it should be easy but he just keeps walking round it. I've clicked every possible pixel, but he won't co-operate.
Can anyone help?

Hi Gran
This was the second game I play way way back straight after The Day Of The Tentacle.
I'll see if I can find my notes...My version was on Floppy Discs and now I see that it is being sold in Games Shops on CD.
The music in The Dig is quite haunting.

Now going to the spare Bedroom to see if he can find the Notes.

Hi Gran
After you have clicked on the Statue, click the Crypt Twice then go to the left. That should get you to the next bit.
The secret is to click Twice.

Thanks Walt, but I'm just not having any success with this. After the statue disappears, he says something about this being an elaborate set up for a burial crypt and that there's something about this old relic that seems important. I loaded a save and went through that part again. I tried the double click but he just keeps on saying the same thing over and over. I've gone through each of the spires again in case I missed something, but if I have I can't find it. I won't give up, though.

I agree about the music. Also, there's a big difference in the figures compared to today's graphics, with all the little pixels on display, especially when he scoots between the spires on the light bridges. I wonder if he would mind being described as 'cute'!

I'll let you know if I ever get finished!!

Hi, Gran,
I played The Dig last summer. First of all, do you have the golden rod with the shapes? When the shutter opened, you should have used the rod to fix the plate. If I remember correctly, you may have to remove the rod to go down.

LadyKestrel. I loaded a save and tried this and the golden rod with the shapes won't work. There's another rod I picked up from somewhere that keeps the shutter open. Once it's used, I can't pick it up again after the statue falls to bits.

blondie_bc. I'd like to have a look at the WT. I did read one for this stage to see if I had overlooked something, but I seem to have all the bits I need once I get down to the crypt. A detailed WT might give me more ideas.

Thanks to both

Gran,
I thought maybe not having the gold rod in your inventory would
keep you from descending because you'll need it shortly. Once the statue disintegrates, I just remember clicking on the triangular platform and descending. I'm sorry I can't help you more than that.

Thanks Lady K. I'm still trying!

I'm assuming that the gold rod you're talking about is the one the ghost dropped. I haven't come across another one and I can examine all the other coloured rods but, so far, not that one.
