Have discovered why I cannot access their Hints/Tips = BECAUSE THERE AREN'T ANY - when you/I click on the box in lower right hand corner of his webpage re the game a message appears above it in a large blank space on the right asking that anyone who has written complete hints/tips or a walkthrough please to contact him and gives his email address....it's a case of that old saying, "when in doubt, read the manual"! but I did not even think to look up there for something like that, just expected a reaction of some kind to my clicking on his link....I know, Betty Lou you Must Pay Attention! Duh
At least now that I have downloaded it I can just minimize and not have to quit and start over every time....thanks for the tip.

Wow. I just d/led and played this game. Was a bit stuck at the beginning but the hint about the knife and book helped a lot. Some of the puzzles were a bit contrived but once you got the idea that, when stuck, just try every inventory item on everything you can see it fell together pretty quickly. Who knew crabs were such a vital piece of a detective's armoury?

Very quirky too in a not-too-obvious way. My favourite was the revelation when you try to shoot the boss at the end...
