Hi,

I am having extreme hard time with combat.

I have been suggested to do some chart, however, I having to where to enter those combination codes.
See below an sample chart

Position AA BB CC DM GG Beats
AA
BB
CC
DM
GG

Let's say that DM beats GG and the code is Ack, oops and eek. GG beats AA and the code is Oops, eek and Oops. My question is where do I enter those code on chart? Many time when DM beat GG, the code seems to be chaning, Why is that?

I would appreciate some assistance in clarifying the chart.

I'm sorry, pnormand, I checked to make sure the URL came up alright in the link, but I didn't follow it back to the site. Apparently this is one of those sites that won't let you link to their content from another site.

But you can still get to it. Go to GameFaqs and over on the left hand side, click on PC systems. Then you will get an alphabet--click on "E" and go down to Escape from Monkey Island Faqs. In the list that comes up, you want the very last one "Monkey Kombat FAQ" by D. Moore.

Hope that helps......

Make a list like this:

When in the stance CHARGING CHIMP:
ACK CHEE EEK changes stance to GIMPY GIBBON
ACK EEK OOP changes stance to BOBBING BABOON
OOP CHEE ACK changes stance to DRUNKEN MONKEY
ACK EEK CHEE changes stance to ANXIOUS APE

When in the stance GIMPY GIBBON:
ACK CHEE EEK changes stance to CHARGING CHIMP
OOP ACK CHEE changes stance to BOBBING BABOON
ACK OOP CHEE changes stance to DRUNKEN MONKEY
ACK OOP EEK changes stance to ANXIOUS APE

...and so on, until you know how to change to any stance from any other stance. You work out the codes by watching which codes the monkeys use to change between stances.

Then (or, rather, at the same time) make a list like this:

BOBBING BABOON beats:
CHARGING CHIMP
DRUNKEN MONKEY

CHARGING CHIMP beats:
GIMPY GIBBON
ANXIOUS APE

...and so on, until you know which stances beat which other stances. Then wipe the floor with monkey butt!

Hi,

To all that helped my with the combat.

I have successfully went throught the whole thing!
My Goodness what battle it was!

To all person who have problems with the combat, Jenny did provide a link to which contains a simpler chart much easier to undertand.

Few thing you must do!
1) When starting combat, take note the position the other monkey start and when He say a certain 3 word code, write on chart the postion that he turn into. Example if He start from AA and he say Ack, EEK, Oops which turn to BB, then locate AA from chart and you must write ACK, EEK, OOPS to BB next to AA and write same code TO BB below AA.
However, If He start from GG and changes to AA using same code, you must then write same code to AA but write a note when He coming from.

When you select codes, the other monkey doesn't change but you are.

Be sure write immediatly write on chart where stange beats the other.

When beat the opponent stange, locate on chart his position and see which stance beat him.
Take note which stange you are in, locate that on chart but also take note which stange that beat him. You must then select code already on chart to beat him from position you are at to change to position that beat him.

I hope this clarifies lots of points, if not I be more then glad to help you, there also others in here can help also!

Thank you Jenny and others for all of your help!

Sincerely

pnormand
