WARNING: THERE IS A SPOILER HERE!!

I just downloaded and am playing this new game and am quite impressed. However, I reached a spot that was dead-end for me and I had to sneak a look at a walkthrough. Very early in the 2nd chapter (Having gone outside)I had to unlock the small piece of luggage. I got the proper code (6237) from the walkthrough and all is fine. It worked and I have moved on. My question is "What did I miss that would have given me the proper combination. I don't remember seeing or reading anything that would have given me the correct number."

If all the people were heroes, there would be no one to watch the parades.

I checked the video walkthrough and the numbers used were 62 and 38.

Is it because they add up to 100? Since it is a Book of 100.

The 6237 came from the 4 colors mentioned in the message that was on that circular thing with the concentric rings that had to be rotated properly to display the message. On the other side of that piece was a picture of the colors of the spectrum in their proper order.

Thanks Uncle Reg I found the circle and turned the disks correctly, but was too dumb to turn it over. I'll sleep better tonight. Now I'll go try to figure why I have a fishing rod. (NOT seeking a hint. It's just where I am.)
