A lot of fellows nowadays have a B.A., M.D., or Ph.D. Unfortunately, they don’t have a J.O.B.
– Fats Domino

These are excuse notes that school secretaries have actually received. Some of these were in an article in the Detroit News back in the 1970s.

“Please excuse John for being absent Jan. 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, and 33.”

“Ralph was absent yesterday because of a sour throat.”

“Please excuse Joey Friday. He had loose vowels.”

“Please excuse Joyce from jim today.”

“Please excuse Roland from P.E. for a few days. He fell out of a tree and misplaced his hip.”

“Karl was hit yesterday playing football. He was hurt in the growing part.”

“John was absent yesterday because he had a stomach.”

“Please excuse Gloria. She has been sick and under the doctor.”

“Please excuse Sarah from being absent yesterday. She was sick and I had her shot.”

Please excuse Jennifer for missing school yesterday. We forgot to get the Sunday paper off the porch, and when we found it Monday, we thought it was Sunday.

Sally won’t be in school a week from Friday. We have to attend her funeral.

My daughter was absent yesterday because she was tired. She spent a weekend with the Marines.

Please excuse Jason for being absent yesterday. He had a cold and could not breed well.

Please excuse Mary for being absent yesterday. She was in bed with gramps

Maryann was absent December 11-16, because she had a fever, sore throat, headache and upset stomach. Her sister was also sick, fever and sore throat, her brother had a low grade fever and ached all over. I wasn’t the best either, sore throat and fever. There must be something going around, her father even got hot last night.

“Please excuse Johnny for being. It was his father’s fault.”

A first grade teacher collected well known proverbs. For a quiz, she gave each child in her class the first half of a proverb and asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb.

It’s hard to believe these were actually done by first grade kids (6 or 7 year-olds)!

* Strike while the ………insect is close.

* Never underestimate the power of…………ants.

* Don’t bite the hand that………………..looks dirty.

* Better to be safe than…………….punch a grade 7 boy.

* If you lie down with dogs, you’ll…….stink in the morning.

* Where there’s smoke there’s……………..pollution.

* Happy the bride who……………gets all the presents.

* A penny saved is……………………….not much.

Good morning everyboomie. welcome

It felt kinda like a hurricane here today. I mean it rained solid all....day....long, but hey, all that water means creek flooding, and you know what creek flooding means right? Great fishing. thumbsup

I'm kidding, but I did catch a big fish the last time I went to the creek. He was down under a limb that crossed the creek in a shallow spot, trying to survive, and more than half dead when I found him. He was a bass, maybe a pound or so. Not much more. yes

If it's not too hot and terrible Sunday, I may try and make a trip to the creek. I'll have to wait and see. happydance

Right now I have to eat supper, and go shower so I can go to bed. It was a very hard work day, believe you me. tired

Have a happy day everyone. rah

Thumping Good Thursday ya'll puppy

I was up and out the door before 7 and it was already 80. We walked shade to shade and all came home hot hot hot.

Cleaned everyone up and got the roast in the crock pot for supper. Daughter is on her way out the door to take the boys to the splash pad. I'm going to post and then go feed all the doggies. I think they are cooled off enough now.

My head is on a swivel watching the Annie and the Seagan. Common sense would say they are both too tired to fight, but in this case, I'm not trusting common sense.

Joe, hope the creek yeilds some treasures when you finally get there.

Haroula wave

Gerry, coffee would hit the spot. Thanks.

Ana, have fun!

Connie, thanks for the bacon sandwiches. That walk left me starving.

Gail, your morning sounds fun. Enjoy thumbsup

Darlene, happy skooshing!

Aw, Nan, so sorry.

Well, we all enjoyed a nice dinner. Made succotash from scratch...yummy. Then played a fun card game with the boys. Now time for bed. Walking time will come much too early for me. Sweet dreams all.

hi all who are still here. I had a busy day today. Another split shift tomorrow. But I can't complain. I had all my mornings off this week. I'm lovin it. The Blisses have a choir party on Saturday. Big party. About forty people. Margaret will help me with the crowd. I can't wait. I love working with her. We have such fun together. But now it's time to say good night and sleep well.

Midgie hearts

Just do it.
