Sadly, another adventure game developer stops making games.

Read the story here.

Yes, it is a very sad story frown
Still I hope they will make 'not commercial games'.

And I recommend 'Sunset' to everyone - it is probably the most beautiful and meaningful game I have seen for several years at least! Definitely adventure game of the year for me.

Well, they did tweet to me "wait till you see what we do next" so hopefully they have something good up their sleeve!

"Tale of Tales didn't make what people usually think of as adventure games.
Their products are more like "multimedia experiences" / "interactive stories" / "interactive movies."
Here are the "games" they advertise on their website.
http://www.tale-of-tales.com/videogames.php

I remember being interested in "8" many years ago, but it was never completed.

At one time we had some discussion about "The Path" at Gameboomers.
It was announced here
http://www.gameboomers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/427975/1
and more discussion here
http://www.gameboomers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=537026

Sunset is still on sale at Steam
http://store.steampowered.com/app/287600/

It is strange how high the graphics requirements are considering the result.
I wonder if that put some of their potential customers off of it.

Tale of Tales was a decent art house development studio. I played through The Graveyard as well as The Path. I enjoyed The Path quite a bit, spent several hours just exploring the forest and finding all of the secrets. Sunset looks good too, I'm sure I'll buy it at some point. Game development is such a saturated and tough business to find success at anymore. With the advent of steam and other digital portals, there has just been a tsunami of indie devs putting out games. Adventure genre is still a small niche I guess, and the artsy adventure titles that Tale of Tales developed probably even smaller niche.
