I am about to enter into a 'fence' war. Went down to my back lot to check for weeds and found that the house behind me (on the adjoining street) had carefully cut all the mylon zipties that held a 2 ft high plastic fencing roll to the top of a very old, ratty, falling apart chain link fence that runs along half of my back fence line.

It was carefully placed on the ground, right where I had it, but disconnected from the fence poles. I put it there in 1998 after people kept jumping the fence and running up my driveway. It stopped the problem. NOW, something must have changed with the people behind me. There are 2 houses, same owner listed. Maybe a relative took over and is improving things? You would think they would check first with ME before tearing down a fence. The rule here is if the fence is ON the property line, the person who has the 'poles' on their side is the owner. I know it's my fence but I can check off all the proper boxes anyway.

My tenant/friend and I put the fence back in place but only with one ziptie on each pole and nothing connecting it to the chain link. Tomorrow I probably will find the fence down again. I'm hoping not, but today's action says 'deliberate' since NONE of the zipties were anywhere on the ground. All were just cut off and missing. Interesting.

More interesting is that the fence poles (actually a square narrow gauge railroad tie) are MINE on my property line and go all the way across the 90 feet. The section of fence that was taken down was attached to those poles and are 1/2 of the footage. I can't figure how that house can imagine that THEY own the fence since all the poles are the same and clearly across my entire property. The other house which is behind me and is across the other half of the area has it's own chain link fence with the normal round poles and is clearly on the other side of my poles.

So weird. I'd be happy if that back house wanted to replace the ratty chain link fencing, but it would be on MY poles on my property. This is going to be fun. I took pictures and I will check it out tomorrow and then go over there and introduce myself if necessary.

Hope my fence is still up and I won't have to do anything. Hate confrontation.

Super Saturday ya'll puppy

Slept in and then got up and made biscuits and sausage gravy for daughter. Ended up feeding the crew. The boys loaded the dishwasher and daughter did the overload dishes. I made up some stuff for their sunburns.

Boys are whinnnnnnnnnnnnnny today. I will have to walk around all day saying "patience" in my head hardwall wave

Fence is still in place today. I checked with my neighbor who has lived here all his life (60 years) and he knows the square poles are mine. His grandfather used to live in a little shack on the back of my property. It's gone, but the slab is still there along with lots of 'pipes' that I have had to mark so the lawnmower won't hit them. All disconnected stuff. But the neighbor remembers those small gauge railroad ties. His fence (a really ratty wooden post/chain link) is between our properties and we take turns propping it up. Very fun. It would fall over if you tried to jump it. Used to get lots of 'foot traaffic' cutting through back yards until I started to maintain it a bit.

Anyway, it's clear where his fence is on my side and it goes around to the back. Nothing but the uprights left on his back side, but it's a clear line. Then my fence poles start and go all the way across the lot to the other neighbor. I would really love to know who and why they took down my little 'topper' fencing. It looks like at one time there was a chainlink there since there is one of the post tops (with the hole for the top bar) still attached to the old wooden fence pole, but who knows. I gonna watch it for a few days/weeks and then pounce if it gets disturbed. Maybe some kids were playing? Nope, too neat and clean for that. WHO picks up all the little cut nylon zip ties? Mystery for me.

AND today, AGAIN we have a nice undercover cop car across the street. Same as last Saturday. They are looking for someone who lives up the side street so we think. WISH it was the old guy's squatted house. Darn. Nasty neighbor across, who hasn't spoken or looked at me for 2 years now (some imagined mis-deed on my part) is VERY interested in the undercover vehicle. Keeps going out and around the sidewalk (never does that) and finding things to do around the corner where it's parked. Very funny. It's obviously a cop to anyone who knows. Since it was there last Saturday too, this not so nice neighbor should figure it out. Funny. If he's really interested/scared, he can call the local PD and they will tell him if they have any undercover guys there or if any other agencies do since they all coordinate on things like this. I've done it before with 'suspicious' vehicles. They are very nice about it. Last time they told me: "you mean the white car with the guy who is wearing sunglasses and is right across from your house?" Yup...oh he's one of ours. OK.

So off to watch the undercover guy. Hope they catch who they are looking for.

Hi everyone. How's your weekend coming along? I have to go to work in about 45 minutes.Had a good day today. I was at Rob's to sign some real estate papers. I've got some land in Calais Maine that's going on the market. I'm not holding my breath though. I don't think it will sell any time soon. But we'll see.

Have a good evening all. See you later.
