Subject 13

Oh! I do not like but I do not like puzzles in a game except when it is to find a "human" solution. I would never play a game like myst that is for sure. I am stuck in Subject 13 with the lens. I am a little bit dixlexis so it doesn't help. How about a game with a great mystery game story that you have to resolve, like the lost sword, or a long Sherlook holmes, that is for me lol.

thanks Ana even if I did not read the previous subject.

From the "Something has awoken" preview video on their website, it seems to be inspired by certain horror stories more than Myst or Tomb Raider.

Looks interesting though.
Hope he makes his goal.

Hi all, Ben here. I'm the developer of The Eyes of Ara. Thanks BrownEyedTigre for the link!

The quote above is from the game's website, which I admit is a bit light on information at the moment. I haven't had time to update it recently, so here's a bit more information about the game.

It's a fully 3D, puzzle-based adventure game inspired by classics like Myst, with an strong emphasis on environmental storytelling. This is where the comparison to the 2013 Tomb Raider comes from - not from the gameplay (The Eyes of Ara is certainly not an action game), but from it's use of environmental art to tell a visual story. As an Environment Artist and Level Designer myself (this is the role I have been doing professionally for the past 10 years before I founded 100 Stones), I wanted my game to draw from this inspiration and tell its story primarily though visual exploration of the game world.

The player is tasked with exploring an old abandoned castle and discovering what happened to the former occupants, all the while being tracked by strange mechanical creatures. The gameplay is a blend of first-person exploration and point-and-click style interaction, and involves extensive exploration, puzzle solving, and discovering hidden secrets. Along the way, players will have to piece the story together from information scattered throughout the environment.

Each chapter of the game involves exploring a different section of the castle and solving a multitude of puzzles strung together throughout the environment. Some in sequence, but also some that can be attempted at any time. In addition, each chapter also contains several difficult bonus puzzles that once solved will unlock the epilogue.

Finally, each chapter has a large collection of lost trinkets and keepsakes to find, for those aiming for 100% completion.

You can watch the trailer here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PV2dT5G_b0A&feature=youtu.be

There are plenty of screenshots on the game's website, and of course a lot more information on the Kickstarter page as well.

If you have any questions about the game I'm happy to answer them smile

I'm bumping this up because I think this game looks really good. There's only 8 days left and more money is needed. I hope they make it!

The Eyes of Ara is now in the final three days of the Kickstarter, and the page has gone from counting down the days to counting down the hours. There is just under $2000 left to fund, so please head on over and have a look smile
