Thanks, MaG for the heads-up.

Leeana - I have uninstalled the game long ago, but I will re-install it to see if I can figure out what your problem is. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that I wrote the WT from the European release, and the US release is different, (as far as I know,) in that the "walk the Plank" task is eliminated. Maybe there is another difference. Let's see.

More tomorrow.

I just checked the beginning of the walkthrough - where you are, it says to go into the office at the foot of the stairs. That's the bottom of the stairs, not the top. The doors upstairs are locked for now, and will be accessible later.

Good luck!

The door upstairs won't be accessible for awhile. You'll need to get into the office and, after that, the kitchen -- both of which are on the first floor.

No problem!!! Some of the hotspots (even the hotspots for the doors) can be a little difficult to find.

When you get out of the manor you will be treated to some of the most unusual and stylish surroundings that you will see in any game. One of my favorites is when you run down the driveway, attempting to leave! The visuals alone make it worth playing through the first part of the game.

I just hope you're not squeamish.

No problem at all! Always glad to help.

If you are following the WT literally, remember that the "Walk the Plank" sequence on the roof will not appear in your version. It's in the WT, because I was so anxious to play the game that I ordered it from Britain before it was released in the US. That scene caused so many complaints that they deleted it in the US release. (We're lucky they didn't also change the name of the game in the process!)

Hi Leeana:

I started this a few days ago and am just a little ahead of you. I've been using the UHS hints, and they work really well. I"m glad to hear there's a walkthrough, though, since I may need it.

The navigation takes a little getting used to, but I'm finding I really enjoy the game. Look for references in the oddest places to Hitchcock movies! lol
