Having an odd problem in the Swamp House basement in the above game. Appear to have done everything correctly, flooded the basement to get rid of the monster thingy but when I pull the lever on the side of the control box again to shut the water off, the water won't turn off because there's a hole in the pipe, so can't get to the little red box. I checked the walkthrough on this site again and again and even went onto UHS Hints and can't for the life of me see that I've done anything wrong. Does anyone have any ideas why this would happen and what can I do to fix it. I did go back to a previous save and still had the same result!
Thanks in advance,
Jo.

If you have killed the monster and shut the electrical power off, all you need to do is
Click to reveal..
turn off the water using the large red valve by the door. Don't forget to turn the power back on after the water drains out to activate the doors card reader.
At least this is what I remember.

Thanks GreyFuss, but the only red valve I can find is near where the monster thingy is and that's where the water is in the basement - in other words, can't get there without getting killed. the only other thing is the actual lever on the side of the electrical control box and although I can use it to kill the monster, it does nothing whatever to turn the water back off. I thought there would have been something on the box where you turn the wheels to flood the basement, but if there is I certainly can't find it!
Oh well, I'll have another go at it later I guess.
Thanks anyway,
Jo.

Have you killed the monster?
Click to reveal..
After you have shorted out and killed the monster you have to shut the power off at the Electrical Control Box so that you can walk in the water without getting electrocuted.

You mean the lever on the side - yes, that's what I've been doing but it just won't shut off for some reason the water still keeps pouring out of the hole in the pipe. It's as though there's some glitch in the game, but I don't see how that would be possible.

Did you shut it off and walk in the water? I believe the red valve is what will turn the water off. Lets go back and start off right...
Click to reveal..
A. Flood basement floor where monster is.
B. Turn on the Electrical Control box electrifying the water and killing the monster
C. Turn off the Electrical Control Box
D. Walk in the water to the red valve and turn it off
E. walk back through the now dry basement floor and turn the Electrical Control Box back on to power the card reader

OMG!! I think what I did was to turn to power off but then turn it on again - what an idiot, no wonder I kept on getting killed!!

Thanks so much,
Jo.
