Stuck at the end: I can't get out of the chimney/rabbit hole. I've looked at the WT, I've searched older Gameboomer posts for help on how to get out, but nothing seems to work for me. I can't click fast enough to keep the stones from falling, not after the first two steps forward. I tried at least 50 times, on two different computers, nothing doing.

So... since I'm apparently not meant to play this lovely game to the bitter end, is anybody here willing to tell me what the 3 endings are? Not knowing is awful!

Betje

I almost forgot my second question: I also wondered about the card symbols on the 12 wine bottles, do they have a special meaning? (Apart from the two Aces of Hearts, nice touch that!)

Betje, I won't say much about the ending since you should be able to get the chimney part. I thought it was kinda cool, although I'm not sure if I've seen all three. For some reason, the game became very unstable once I reached the end part. My graphics gets getting all garbled up. I'm not sure what the cards on the wine bottles are for. I don't recall that part too well.

One thing you may want to try with this game is to use a slowdown utility. When I played it, that puzzle with the birds flying past the screen was driving me crazy cause it was in hyperspeed. I played this game on a 350MHz machine. The chimney part didn't give me much problem as far as the speed issue though, so who knows.

Spoiler space for chimney part:

I needed help on this part as well. So, after the second or third step the floor starts falling out from under you, right? Have you been able to click anywhere on the screen to keep the bricks together so that you can then take another step forward? I think you have to do this for about 3 steps or so. One click should do the trick per step. Can't remember for sure, but clicking wildly during this part might cause you to fall through. Experiment with where you place your cursor when you click and you should find the right spot. I think one step does involve two clicks with a pause in between.

Thanks for your help, Lakerz, much appreciated. The white birds were way too fast for me, and I gave up on that particular card. There were one or two other spots that gave me problems, although I could click fast enough to get into the mock turtle soup. smile And I agree that there's something not quite right with the game near the end: graphics were okay but sound and cursor kept disappearing and reappearing on both computers. That's one reason I felt I wasn't meant to finish it.

Yes, a few times I managed to click on the bricks to keep them together, and move two steps forward. It's usually the third step that is my downfall (disappearing cursor?). I'll take your advice and try to find the right spot to click or use a slowdown utility, it would be such a pity not to see at least one ending!

Hi Betje - and MaG smile
I will dig out my notes and see what I can resurrect. I can't recall the details.
I remember you end up outside, and there are three seperate paths through the fields and hills that lead to the different endings. One takes you back to the room you started from, but thats all I do remember.
I certainly did not discover any deeper meanings in the wine bottles. That doesn't mean there aren't any.
A word of warning re the chimney. Once you get through there is a lift. Press the wrong buttons and it will send you back to the start of the chimney again mad But once you are through you will probably be able to manage it again. I certainly found the first time the hardest, and in fact needed Pokey's help.
I will let you know what I dig up.

steve
