For those of you who haven't tried this game yet, I've been playing it on and off for a couple of months when I don't feel like battling my way through an RPG, and I highly recommend it.
It's an odd little game, not sure exactly how you'd classify it, a top-down 2D world with RPG and strategy elements, the premise being that you are a ship's captain in a world where London and the sea around it has sunk into the dark. You have to make money to support your ship and crew by exploring the sunless sea, only it isn't a safe place...in fact, it's a very dangerous place, where pirates roam and sunlight is a rare commodity to be desired, sold and sometimes feared. You can choose to play stealth or combat style, or a mixture of both.
The graphics are pretty basic, just a little ship pootling around the map, and the gameplay is just a simple mixture of point and click and lots of reading -- lots and lots of reading -- but somehow it's surprisingly compelling, and the sound track is very good.
