If I remember correctly, there were no English versions per se, but there is a patch that you can apply to the game that provides you with English subtitles.

According to Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tale_of_a_Hero
Quote:
The game has never been released in English-language markets, but the Italian version includes full English voice acting and English subtitle patch was later released.

So look for the Italian version on eBay.
For example, here
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181794300656
and look for the patch if you want the English subtitles.
Be aware you will have to pay for overseas shipping.

dear MaG,i am playing now,(tale of a hero),right now i am
underwater in the ocean,at the crossroad,i have to deal with a,weird creature, this creature have a hed,on top there is sticking out,5 pseudopods, the WT says, that all 5 pseudopods must be retracetd,by clicking on them in a
correct order, but the WT does not give any instructions
of how to do it,because it is a randomized puzzle,i
wasted time on it,but nothing works, therfore if you can give an idea to make it work, then fine, and if not, then a
saved game is mandantory.
i thank in advance.

I do not have saved games for this games.

You can try to just click as fast as you can any pseudopods that appears. Good luck.

The developer wrote this. See if it will work for you:

*click on the tile while it is shining. If you accidentally don't make it, just make the lighting again by turning the statues.
*in tile closeup you will notice seams. Use the knife to force the tile out
*take the crystal under the tile
*put the crystal into the opening in the middle of the floor
*turn statues again- a path to the staircase leading to the temple opens in the floor
