Replaying this game and much of it is coming back to me but not this part with the fuse.
"You'll see me for the last time when you pass through the wall. The blades in a wind tunnel cause you to stall. In order to stop it enter a muse. Don't give up quickly; don't blow your fuse. But first there's the feline below on the mat. Remember curiosity can kill the cat.
Been trying for a few days now. A Hint or Nudge would be appreciated if that is possible.
Before I look at the last hint (the part I don't already know), can you tell me this?: If I have the fuse thing set right, will I know it while I'm there or do I have to run back and forth from the basement to the den to check if the fan is off?
Looking at the walkthrough, it would appear that the fan is off when you get to this part of the game. Having said that, I don't know exactly how nonlinear this game is, so fair warning on that.
I finished the game but with some disappointment unfortunately.
I did end up having to go through some of the hints just far enough to see that I was approaching the fuse puzzle incorrectly. I was comfortable with that hint. But then I didn't do something that I was supposed to do and had the worst game ending. When I went back in to my save to try again, things were not as they should have been. The cigarette was no longer positioned right and I wasn't getting a cut scene that I should have gotten. I tried a prior save or two and still no go. So I got out of the game and looked at the hints again and at the walkthrough. I had done everything right but in the process saw all the rest of what I still had to do.
When I went back in the game to try again, everything was as it should be and I was able to complete the game quickly (because of reading the walkthrough which is where my disappointment comes in). I don't know why when I originally went back into the save after "losing" the game, things were not right even after replaying that portion.
