Bob parked his car facing the park, took a swig of his soft drink, and glanced around. On a nearby picnic table, an unhappy crow noisily complained because there was no food to be found. It did not seem to disturb anyone. They just ambled by slowly, enjoying the cool evening breeze. The crow had no fear of people, he seemed to know the park was a safe zone where he wouldn't be hurt. Bob, who always carries fruit in his satchel, met the glance of some raccoons kind of half hidden in the bushes. He stared back, and thought they looked hungry. He picked up his satchel. Maybe if he fed oranges to them now, they would not wander by later and spill boxes of garbage in the picnic area. They were capable of making an awful mess. The path was covered with confetti, a rare sight in a town which has one parade a year. He emptied the fruit from his satchel, and returned to the car. He was waiting for his friends. Bob had been attending concerts in the park for years, but he had many friends who, oddly enough, had never been to even one. Since this was his last day in town, they had agreed to do whatever he wanted. Bob did not have illusions that they would instantly stop hating classical music. Earlier, when he asked the orchestra what they would be playing, he was pleased to learn the music would span a major part of the last hundred years. He looked forward to a pleasant evening. Tomorrow, he would be returning to his job on network television.

The moon is actually more useful than the sun since the moon gives us light at night when it's dark. The sun only gives us light during the day when it's already bright out.

The best math you can learn is how to calculate the future cost of current decisions.
