hi all, I had played this before , but will this play on win 7 or XP ? ant thoughts on this.

I don't know if Sanitarium causes problems with Windows XP, and I also don't know what problems you might encounter with Windows 7.

Having said that, you can go to GOG and buy the game as a download here; it's tweaked to run on new systems.

One thing that I remember clearly about Sanitarium (and this is going back quite a few years now) is that more than one GameBoomers member had a problem with the game CD exploding in the drive, as crazy as that sounds. It was one particular release of the game that just couldn't seem to stand up to the higher-speed drives. That alone made me very glad to see that it is now available as a download rather than being CD-dependent.

And that is exactly why I purchased from GOG even though I have the disk version!

Someone else asked this question some time ago. I couldn't locate my CD version so I purchased a copy from GOG, it plays just fine for me.

that's good info on a great game - it has everything ! and more ,,and now U can get it on GOG.

My "original" disk version was fine - no explosions or anything - but I still got the GOG version when it became available anyway so as to be SURE I'd be able to play the game on a more modern machine !!

Sounds suspiciously like Paranoia .... even to me !!

Count me among the paranoid, as that's why I got the GOG version too.

Well this was the game with the "exploding" CD's.
