Mome, you will have to visit the monastery eventually, but for now you can go somewhere else first. Just move that lever clockwise, and when you hear a bell ring you can go somewhere...

Mome, the symbol you're supposed to click on to return to the Temple is the one that you just got finished making. If clicking on it doesn't return you, you may not have done it correctly.
Further note: I just checked another walkthrough and it mentions a step the first one didn't. See if this helps any: "Once the animation stops, press the "fan" button. If all goes well you'll now be able to move closer to the sample of iron. Click it and you'll be transported back to the temple..."

It looks as though it might be, Mome--at least I can't find anything that even hints of a puzzle that needs to be solved to get the gunpowder.
Is there anything else in the room that it could be under? The reason I ask, is that one walkthrough refers to it as a "dresser" rather than a "wardrobe": "Get the bag of gunpowder from underneath the dresser in Lucien's room..."

Hi,
As far as I know...you have to just click on the gunpowder under the wardrobe and you have it in your inventory. Did you check it to see if it was there? There is no puzzle here to get it. Just click on it and that's it.

Mome, I don't have any magic solution unfortunately! But have you consulted another walkthrough, and gone through it step by step to be sure you didn't miss some little thing that you were supposed to do before picking up the gunpowder? And I did find a "graphics patch" for ZN--haven't the faintest idea what it's supposed to fix, but it couldn't be worse than now! I would be sure to move my saved games out of the folder to the desktop while installing any patches--you can always move them back afterwards. The patch is found here -- just click on "Windows/PC" and then on "Z"...

Just a long shot - are you sure you're in Lucien's room? Return to the entry area and take the first (right-hand) stairs up to the first landing. Turn right and take the side stairs up to Lucien's room landing. Open the helmet of the suit of armor. Enter Lucien's room. Pick up the bag of gunpowder under the armoire (there's also a letter there). There's suppose to be a blank easel opposite the fireplace.

Did you read all the letters on the desk? How about the Theater Ticket for Boc C??? Did you check the photo? Did you read the note stuck in the mirror??
The book says ...Face the armoire again. Take the white object that's sticking out from under it. The OBJECT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE MUCH, BUT UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL IT'S A GUNPOWDER CHARGE.
This leads me to think there is only ONE thing to pick up there, did you try to RIGHT-CLICK it?????

The setup isn't like the one in the practice room, Mome. If you know the names of the instruments, arrange them like this: SPOILER * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * popperkeg, nambino, popperkeg, wertmizer, violin

Morning Mome, Great game, right!!! Question: Are you in the practice room or the dark theater to play the fanfare? By the look of Jenny's spoiler, it would seem your at the fanfare. She is correct, the popperkeg is first and third, far to the right and up high. Nambino is second just up and to the left of the pit. The Wertmizer is way up and left of the pit, for number four. Drop down left to the violin for number five. Jenny100 helped me much with this game last year. It just gets better. Best Wishes, Rick

Mome, I haven't done this part, so I just copied that directly from a walkthrough. But the UHS Hints site has different directions: SPOILER * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
The back row, going from left to right is wertzmizer, gederaglini, frobophone, popperkeg...
The front row, from left to right is violin, nambino, miano, and fleezle.

You have to do the exercise twice. Once in the area where Sophia taught Alexandria with the lights on (where the phonograph & zee icky sound clip is found) and once on stage in the dark. Granny's advice is excellent. You need to identify and mark for yourself where each instrument goes so you cna do it "blind" ....on stage... later I loved the professor and the music lectures This is my favorite part of the game! Afternoon Mome, Yup, you must be in practice room. The dark theater is with just a lighted conductors wand. The record gives you sounds and names. The picture on the wall to the right helps to place the instruments in the chairs. When you have the correct placement, you will hear a short sound bite played, that is all. The orchestra warming up! The theater is well,a theater, big dark, many seats and that is where the fanfare is played. That will come later. You may have already did the practice room correct. The warm up music is very short. Can you get into the theater yet? Best Wishes, Rick

Hey Susan, Do you not want to tell Mome to play the albums backward for fun? Rick

The insturments are widly scattered on the chairs, on both sides of the aisle. Look behind you when at that 'multi-horned' record player (Gramaphone?) , I think there's a chart on the wall that shows the correct seating of the Zorkestra. If not, at the bottom of the record bin is one about ohchestras, it can help you figure out the practice room. You need EIGHT of the insturments on the chairs. And REMEMBER the notes, you will need them in another puzzle later.

Mome, here's what another walkthrough said about placing the instruments:
"Place the instruments in this order in the back row, from left to right: Wertmizer, Gederaglini, Frobophone, Popperkeg. In the front row, from left to right: Violin, Nambino, Miano, Fleezle. When every instrument is in the right place, you hear a clue about the Harmony of the Spheres..."

Ok, Mome. Just a little stuck at the consevatory, are you? Questions: Have you played the albums on the record player? Have you drawn some pics. of the instruments? You need to Know the pics that go with the sounds. You must also copy the picture on the wall, this is for the Fanfare. I did not Know of WT, for this game, I took a lot of notes. I put them in the little Zork Book, that came with the game. I did not have any notes of the exact location of the instruments in the practice room. I went back and did it agin. Just for you. The practice room: There are four chairs in back left, space, then four chairs to the right. The front is the same, four on the left, space, four on the right. Easy now, Top left, first chair, Wertmizer(two people thing), skip, skip, then the forth chair is to be the Gederglin thing( two people horn). Now skip over to the top right row of four. Put the big Flebophone thing(big Tuba) in the first seat, skip, skip and put the popperkeg (baton thing)on the last seat on the right. Now you can go and to the left front row in front. On your left first row, first seat, put the violin, skip, skip and then put the drums(Nambino) on the last seat of the left row. Right front row. Frirst chair is the to be the Miano(Lyra like strings), Skip ,Skip and finish on the right, last chair with the Flezzle( flute like). Best Always, Rick
