Am at the Water part & need to do the gargoyle thing in order to open a doorway to go to the attic. I keep trying to do the water outlets as per the WT - 'the 1st,4th & 5th from the left' & the left door will unlock. Well, in the first place the left door is already unlocked!! & it just leads back to the water stuff. So I am stuck trying to figure this out.

Thanks for any help I get!!

Can you do it by the sound? It's a simple tune, and you need to repeat it by clicking on the correct water pipes.

If you are doing it right, maybe you are trying the wrong door. You should hear that door unlock.

I just had to drop by because I'm cackling here - listening to you sing! lol lol

Anyhow - if you're on the correct place - check if the statue is playing pipes - it should be like Pan - then turn around -Counting from the left, turn on numbers 1, 4 and 5.

I finally got it thru my extremely wonderful singing voice. Actually went to another WT site & got a picture ID of the fountain. The ones I clicked didn't sound anything like the statue!!
Now I am trying to figure out the Planetarium stuff. Went to the Monastery but came right back 'cause I couldnt find my way around.

Mome, you will have to visit the monastery eventually, but for now you can go somewhere else first. Just move that lever clockwise, and when you hear a bell ring you can go somewhere...

Ok I got to the monastery & did all the do there. Just finished making the blob into something--WT says to click on Lead symbol for Saturnas to return to the Temple. Where is the lead symbol for Saturnas for me to click on??? I guess I have the right symbol done--the red & orange flames looked soo much alike. If I didn't do it right would I have gotten anything??

Mome, the symbol you're supposed to click on to return to the Temple is the one that you just got finished making. If clicking on it doesn't return you, you may not have done it correctly.

Further note: I just checked another walkthrough and it mentions a step the first one didn't. See if this helps any: "Once the animation stops, press the "fan" button. If all goes well you'll now be able to move closer to the sample of iron. Click it and you'll be transported back to the temple..."

I am at Irondune & need to get the gunpowder from Luciens room. I know it is under the wardrobe & I have the hand cursor ready to pickup but I can't locate it. I have read the yellow note that is down to the right of the wardrobe on the floor. Is this one of those&*&*&* pixel things???!!!

It looks as though it might be, Mome--at least I can't find anything that even hints of a puzzle that needs to be solved to get the gunpowder.

Is there anything else in the room that it could be under? The reason I ask, is that one walkthrough refers to it as a "dresser" rather than a "wardrobe": "Get the bag of gunpowder from underneath the dresser in Lucien's room..."

No I think the "dresser" & the "wardrobe" are the same. There is nothing in that room except tables.
And I get the pickup hand at that spot. I went to other spots in the room & the "wardrobe" is the only one that the hand shows up on.

Hi,

As far as I know...you have to just click on the gunpowder under the wardrobe and you have it in your inventory. Did you check it to see if it was there? There is no puzzle here to get it. Just click on it and that's it.

I know that this should just be a simple thing but I have clicked & clicked with the hand cursor & no gunpowder comes up. I have also checked my inventory to see if it got there by osmosis--but no gunpowder. Every WT I check says to go to underneath the "wardrobe (chest), read the note & pick up the gunpowder--so it can't be too difficult to do just that!!!

I think I'll go to another game & come back to ZN.

Thanks for trying to help. I'll keep coming back to this thread in the hopes that someone has a miracle answer!!

Mome, I don't have any magic solution unfortunately! blush But have you consulted another walkthrough, and gone through it step by step to be sure you didn't miss some little thing that you were supposed to do before picking up the gunpowder?

And I did find a "graphics patch" for ZN--haven't the faintest idea what it's supposed to fix, but it couldn't be worse than now! I would be sure to move my saved games out of the folder to the desktop while installing any patches--you can always move them back afterwards. The patch is found here -- just click on "Windows/PC" and then on "Z"...

Jenny thanks for responding. I have looked thru all the WTs on the internet!!They all say the same thing, pick up -read note under wardrobe (dresser) & pick up gunpowder. Sounds simple enough!! I will go back thru & double check for left out things but I don't think I have-I have done the suits of armorto get into the dungeon, talked to the man who comes thru door, talks about the war, been to Kaine's room, opened his chest with the nitro, read everyhing. I don't think I have left out anything, but will check AGAIN.

think Just a long shot - are you sure you're in Lucien's room?

Return to the entry area and take the first (right-hand) stairs up to the first landing. Turn right and take the side stairs up to Lucien's room landing. Open the helmet of the suit of armor. Enter Lucien's room. Pick up the bag of gunpowder under the armoire (there's also a letter there).

There's suppose to be a blank easel opposite the fireplace.

Oh yeah, I've done the easel with the paint brush, clicked on the table by the easel to get a flashback, read the letter & that's where I'm stuck. You'd think with all this help I'm getting I could find it.

The only thing = I have a square white piece of paper in inventory (the only thing in the inventory) & I don't remember what or where I got it so I thought maybe that would be the pouch of gunpowder so I went to the animal, did the bone thing in his ear & tried to put the inventory thing in his rump, pull the tail, but that was not working!!!

There has not been that much to do in Irondune that I could have missed doing anything.

I remember, vague as it may be, the gun powder. Seems it was just hard to find the indication that there was something there to pick up. Also, are you sure there's only one thing in inventory? Is there a scroll possible to see more? Memory fading..........! laugh

I didn't do it......and if I did I'm not guilty!

Thanks BillyBob - thank you for "verifying that the indication to find the gunpowdeer is hard!!! In this game, for the inventory you click & click no scrolling - at least I don't think so--working w/o a manual so I'll try scrolling-have not had that much in inventory at one time except at the monastery & that was click click.

Did you read all the letters on the desk? How about the Theater Ticket for Boc C??? Did you check the photo? Did you read the note stuck in the mirror??

The book says ...Face the armoire again. Take the white object that's sticking out from under it. The OBJECT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE MUCH, BUT UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL IT'S A GUNPOWDER CHARGE.

This leads me to think there is only ONE thing to pick up there, did you try to RIGHT-CLICK it?????

Has this website - that is sooo wonderful--ever thought about setting up a special section for dummies? I can't think of too many people besides myself that would be in it!!

Anyway, thank you Granny I was carrying the gunpowder along all the time. I thought this inventory item was from another location, had tried it in the BUTT of the animal & it wouldn't work so thought I didn't have the gunpowder, went back, tried it again and voila I blew out the door.

Now I'm in the Conservatory trying to place the instruments in the chairs. It seems like the chairs are not set up like the poster so I am having a hard time. I have the names of the instruments from the WT & pretty much know what each one is but the way the orchestra seats are set up it doesn't seem to match poster. Any ideas??

The setup isn't like the one in the practice room, Mome. If you know the names of the instruments, arrange them like this: SPOILER

Morning Mome,
Great game, right!!!
Question:
Are you in the practice room or the dark theater to play the fanfare? By the look of Jenny's spoiler, it would seem your at the fanfare.
She is correct, the popperkeg is first and third, far to the right and up high.
Nambino is second just up and to the left of the pit. The Wertmizer is way up and left of the pit, for number four. Drop down left to the violin for number five. Jenny100 helped me much with this game last year. It just gets better.
Best Wishes,
Rick

Mome, I haven't done this part, so I just copied that directly from a walkthrough. But the UHS Hints site has different directions: SPOILER

The back row, going from left to right is wertzmizer, gederaglini, frobophone, popperkeg...

The front row, from left to right is violin, nambino, miano, and fleezle.
