I'm at the point where I need two dishes for waterwheel from tasting Ethyl's Stew. The walkthrough says to notice what Ethyl does when you taste the stew and give comment. I cannot get a cursor back to get dishes for waterwheel. I'm at a loss. We are playing the disc version without a patch. Is this our problem?

For the water wheel plates - there are dirty dishes that are in a pile outside Ethel's window.
The clean ones are beside Ethel.

As for the comments - those are clues on how to get another item from Ethel later on.

Ethyl hits Wilbur with the spoon when he tries to take clean dishes. Wilbur will not pick up the dirty dishes.

The dishes are before you go into Ethel's window. There should be a pile outside.
I had a glitch here where I had to load from a save. Save often.

I just think you have to keep asking to try her stew and that is how you get the dishes. in order to get her to not hit you with the spoon all the time you need a distraction - like a partner in crime - and then you can take the towel. If my old brain remembers correctly.

I used an earlier save and went back and got all the dishes I needed. We have electricity now. Unfortunately this was our third glitch. Thanks again! Is there a patch available for the Almanac Edition and if so where can I find it.

If you got the game from steam - you should have an automatic patch-update already.
Be sure that you have "automatic update" on the properties of the particular game you bought.


You can check this by right click of the game in your library.
- Select properties.
- Select updates.
- select "always keep this game up to date" in the drop down menu.

I got mine from the kickstater and I didn't have a problem the dirty dishes are a bit tricky to try and get ethel distracted otherwise no other glithes anyway I am also not a downloade person if I can get a boxed version of a game so much the better its the collector thing looks so nice on the shelf. dianne
