The first thing you need to so is determine which version of Windows you're running (X86 or x64) - This link explains that one.

32-bit and 64-bit Windows: frequently asked questions

Visual C++ 2013 can be downloaded directly from Microsoft. If you're running a 64 Bit OS download the X64 executable, otherwise select the x86 32 Bit version. Save it to your hard drive and run the installer.

Visual C++ Redistributable Packages

"If you're running a 64 Bit OS download the X64 executable..."

If you are running on a 64bit OS you will probably need both the 32 and 64bit versions of the c++ redist. because 32bit programs can also be run on a 64 bit system and they will need the 32 bit version.

Unless you meant the 64 bit installer in which case you are right as I think in installs both versions.

A little something from the Win10 agreement:

Quote:
Finally, we will access, disclose and preserve personal data, including your content (such as the content of your emails, other private communications or files in private folders), when we have a good faith belief that doing so is necessary to: 1.comply with applicable law or respond to valid legal process, including from law enforcement or other government agencies; 2.protect our customers, for example to prevent spam or attempts to defraud users of the services, or to help prevent the loss of life or serious injury of anyone; 3.operate and maintain the security of our services, including to prevent or stop an attack on our computer systems or networks; or 4.protect the rights or property of Microsoft, including enforcing the terms governing the use of the services – however, if we receive information indicating that someone is using our services to traffic in stolen intellectual or physical property of Microsoft, we will not inspect a customer’s private content ourselves, but we may refer the matter to law enforcement.

Also,

Windows 10 splits opinions and it has split mine. I think Microsoft MSFT +0.3% nailed the core OS, but the policies around it are controlling and overly invasive. In short: great software, shame about the rules. And here’s another perfect example…

Now Windows 10 has launched, Microsoft is starting to fill in the blanks regarding features removed from Windows 7 and Windows 8 and it doesn’t make for pleasant reading. Why? Because behind this free upgrade are the first signs of where Microsoft will start charging users in future and it begins at the very bottom:

These include things like Solitaire and Windows DVD Player.

Apparently Microsoft is aware of the sound problem with win10. This is their fix found in another blog.
A problem with Conexant audio means that you may hear no sound in Windows 10 even though everything appears to be working correctly. While this is being investigated, Microsoft suggests running msconfig.exe and heading to the Boot tab. Click the Advanced options button, check the Maximum memory box and set the value to 3072
