Tom returns after suffering a permanently dead PC. He now has a squeaky-clean laptop, but is absolutely whacked after a duel to the death with Windoze 8.1

More Tom Swifties.(For example "I'll have a martini," said Tom, drily.) As ever, grovelling apologies for any re-runs

Some of these are very clever and quite tough, so being all heart, I've given you first letter and length as a starter grin·

One answer each for first 24 hours, please.

-1. "Here's someone who can't speak!" said Tom, d----------.
-2. "I can't do it!" Tom said n------.
-3. "Let's say it's paid for in advance," Tom p--------.
-4. "I forgot to repeat that SOS message," said Tom r-----------.
-5. "You might be in the bunker" Tom h-------.
-6. "...and I still say my dog's in season," said Tom h-------.
-7. "I work at the Large Hadron Collider," Tom b-----.
-8. "The Soviet press is useful on hot days", said Tom f------------.
-9. “Watch out walking down the side off the road”, said Tom g---------.
-10. "Moooo" said Tom, c----.

To waste one second of one's life is a betrayal of one's self.
I wonder what's on television...?

Sometimes lost is where you need to be. Just because you don't know your direction doesn't mean you don't have one.

The best math you can learn is how to calculate the future cost of current decisions.

It seems that a few may fit for #3:

precented, prebilled, prefunded crazy

But, your answer sounds best, Joan! wink

Lex, you're right, but Mrs W has been telling me off for being picky scared

All good answers for #2 (the "pre" is good!), but not mine happydance There's a verb that means to offer money to someone when buying something... think

Past tense of tender is tendered, not tended.
Tend doesn't mean to offer money. crazy
