Tom returns after suffering a permanently dead PC. He now has a squeaky-clean laptop, but is absolutely whacked after a duel to the death with Windoze 8.1More Tom Swifties.(For example "I'll have a martini," said Tom, drily.) As ever, grovelling apologies for any re-runs Some of these are very clever and quite tough, so being all heart, I've given you first letter and length as a starter  · One answer each for first 24 hours, please. -1. Yes, I like "notably" Lex, you're right, but Mrs W has been telling me off for being picky  All good answers for #2 (the "pre" is good!), but not mine  There's a verb that means to offer money to someone when buying something...
