I screwed up when I downloaded my MSN Premium subscription email and did NOT set it as my default email program. Now there are some occasions in which I cannot send an email because it needs to open and I get a message showing that I have no email program set up. I looked up "help" but am not being able to do this. The MSN program doesn't show up for me to select it as default and I don't see how to set an association.

Any help?

I can't do that because MSN does not show up there and Windows 7 does not include a email program so there is no email program to choose. The message I get after it asks to open up Windows Host Process Run dll32 (something like that)is "could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed.

I am downloading Windows Live Mail to see if I can set that as the default but I'm pretty sure I will need to call MSN to get this fixed (or maybe uninstall and re-download). I don't know. I had this problem before when my MSN download was corrupted on this old computer. It is at Gameboomers here where I cannot send the emails from and I know it has happened on some other site too but I can't think where.

Inland, I just sent a "test" email to you through Live Mail.

Thanks.

"Not really that" oldbroad smile

Unless you know how to add programs to the "use" list, your best bet may be to repair the MSN installation if that is an option under "add remove programs" or just reinstall it while telling it to be the default email program.

Thanks Robert. I'll just stick with the Windows Live as default on that computer since I already downloaded it. At some time n the future, I may get it changed to MSN. There are only a few places where I have the problem of the email program needing to open like that.

Got it Inland and thanks again!
