I'll give you clues to words which make new words when 'we' is put somewhere in the middle. An example will be given in question one. A pen and paper might be useful, but not essential.
Example: take a word meaning ocean and add a short name for Edward. Insert 'we' to find a type of marine algae. Sea + ed with we included = seaweed.

-3.Take a word meaning 'a long way away' and add an old unit of measurement often used for cloth. Insert 'we' to find a word said on departing. 8
-4.Take a word denoting something centrally placed and a word for the rear of a ship. Insert 'we' to find an adjective describing the region of the USA which includes Indiana and Kansas. 10
-5.Take the chemical symbol for flerovium, a word denoting a choice (often used with either), a river of Italy and a very old car model. Insert 'we' to come up with a container for growing blooms. 9
-6.Take a word meaning the same as decay, something you might find covering your roof and a letter denoting one of the three things we are all meant to learn at school. Insert 'we' to come up with a breed of dog. 10
-7.Take a preposition which describes a movement in the direction of something and an adornment normally worn on the hand. Insert 'we' to find an adjective used to describe something very tall. 8
-8.Take the chemical symbol for arsenic and another name for a lorry or vehicle for carrying cargo. Insert 'we' to end up with a word describing how you feel when overcome with emotion or admiration. 9
-9.Take a word for a male, add the chemical symbol for phosphorus and the heraldic word for gold. Insert 'we' to find the number of people available for, or working on, a particular job. 8
10.Take the short name for one of Prince Andrew's daughters and a word meaning to burn or scorch. Insert 'we' to come up with something you might wear on your summer holidays. 9
