Waiting for daugthter to get here and need help with and error on Steam. I purchased the Last Half of Darkness. It shows to have d/loaded, it must have done some of it on it's own because I shut it down before I finished. Anyway I get this message when I click on the play button:
Steam failed to load DDL (2:DBPro setup debug DDL)
Do I need to the help from Steam. I did remove the Bin subfolder as it suggested and Steam replace it but I get the same message.

You might ask over on the Steam forum for the game.
http://steamcommunity.com/app/384910/discussions/

The developer (WRF Studios) is trying to provide technical assistance in some of the threads there.

Also, check to make sure the error message is about "DLL" and not "DDL"

You may need to update your DirectX 9.0c if the error is related to this

I wrote it down in note pad and it shows DLL. I should have caught that. I just clicked on the desktop icon and it is DLL. Let me ask a question about games on Steam. Is it possible to put all my games on disks or on EHD. It takes an act of congress to get into the help area. You have to set up a completely different account with a different user name and email address........I'd say that's overkill to me. Then once you do that you don't get any human help, just some directions that make no sense to me. A change of passwords for that account would have sufficed. I do not have the temperment for this stuff and if I can save thoses games I'll just close the Steam account and call it done! I tend to be high strung and all of this makes me extremely nervous and visibly shaky.

Thanks Jenny,
Terri

It would depend on what the games were.
There are a few Steam games where they claim they are "DRM-free" (though you still have to use the Steam client to download them).
There is a list here

Is anyone else having a problem with "Last Half of Darkness~Society of the Serpent Moon"? Once I got my Cyberpower up and running I decided I'd just download it on that PC and not bother with the other PC's exisiting problem with the game.
Now, I have gotten it to work and then not work. It's either preparing to launch or it says it's running. The present message is Steam-Error Failed to start game (app already running) See Steam support site for more information. This is getting old again.

Yes, Linda 333 also had a problem with the Steam version of Last Half of Darkness.

Unfortunately none of us know what to do. I think it's a problem the developer will have to solve. You can try posting in the Steam forum for the game here

You can try using these launchers to start the game
