yikes , just went to the hut area and as i just try to walk I get this message "main branch-built 5-26-2004@5:19 has stopped working " so i have to get out of the game ????now what ?do i need a patch or what ? send help soon please .

I moved your post over to Glitches, because I have no idea what this message means within the context of playing Myst Uru. Hopefully one of the techies will be able to help you out here and/or someone familiar with this game.

If you are playing the GOG version, I would think that it would already be patched.

There are several versions of this game and you have not stated which one is giving you problems. The version I have is Myst Uru Complete Chronicles which includes Ages Beyond Myst, The Path of the Shell, and To D'Ni. A Google search for "myst uru patch" gave a patch for Ages Beyond Myst but nothing for the "complete" set.

Adding Complete to the search turned up a patch released by Ubisoft as UruCC_n.zip which is a "no CD" patch for the Complete version. Otherwise Complete is said to work with Win7.

thanks for the help ,the only time this happens is when i click on the orange book and go to the hut and that when it goes bad when i click to move , all the others no problem,??

Robert thanks for the info , I just hope I don't have to start this game over from the start .any thoughts on that ? also i have a older XP computer but it's not hooked up to the internet,and I don't know how to set my newer win 7 computer to run in windows XP.

Just about any game where you have made "saves" should be amenable to re-installation (if needed) and/or patching as long as you keep the "saves" and re-install them as well as the game. You can also move from one computer to another on the same basis.
That may or may not be what you are asking. I still don't know if you are playing Uru-CC which should not need patching and may work on the Win-7 machine without using a compatibility mode. If you are playing one of the other Uru versions, you probably should get the patches and install them.

Yes U guys gave me the patience to try and fix this problem ,i wish i could remember how i did it -but i have CRS. but now i can play this game out to the end.i'm sure i will need your down the line.

got a new problem,i made it to teledahn age got the orange book and went to hut and activated the first journey , but as i click to move the game crashes ..over and over ..i'm at a point i just want to move on to a new game ...

You have the option of playing solo or not, though there aren't too many people playing it anymore.

Some people say the online version works better than Complete Chronicles if you have Windows 7 and later -- that Complete Chronicles crashes on them while the online version does not.

Plus you'll get the bonus of being able to see quite a bit more of Veovis' house in K'Veer, which wasn't in Complete Chronicles.

went to game and reset to XP 3rd and reset game,thats was thescreew up now it like it was at the start ,how it got undone i don't know.
